intro log
who. everyone!
what. entering omega.
where. landing pads
when. today
warnings. none for now
You’re not sure how it happened.
A minute ago, you had somewhere to go, someplace to be. Maybe something important to do, or maybe you were just going out to buy groceries. Whatever it was, it doesn’t matter anymore.
You’re in some kind of transport -- a shuttle, given the turbulence and the sounds outside. You’re surrounded by strangers, some of whom might not even be the same species you are. There’s no point in asking. They don’t know how they got here either. The cockpit’s blocked off, like someone forgot to put in a door, and not even a glance at your omni-tool -- a holographic interface accessible by merely tapping the sensor on your left arm -- is any help.
You’ve only got a minute or so before the shuttle starts descending. There aren’t any windows -- this doesn’t look like a shuttle meant for long trips. When it finally touches down, the doors open automatically.
Before you are landing pads, abandoned equipment scattered about. There are other shuttles landing, and whether you like it or not, you’re going to have to get off before yours dumps you out the door. Turn around, and you’re met with a hazy skyline, only half the buildings seem to be coming from above.
Welcome to Omega.
ooc notes
You’re free to expand past the landing area, but please start all threads here. Please remember that your character will not have housing until Aria makes a post granting it; it’ll be on
outsiders and linked here when it goes up.

Captain America, but Steve is fine.
[He'll answer to a slew of other names as well. Cap, Rogers, Captain, whatever new nickname Tony has for him today, etc.]
Thanks, I didn't design it. It just kind of stuck around.
[Now comes the part where he tries to decide whether the man is really the superhero sort and SHIELD just hasn't mentioned him, or if he's a wannabe. He imagines Iron Man sparked plenty of pretenders. Or maybe he's just from wherever they are right now, lots of options.
Steve will give him the benefit of the doubt.]
Sorry, I haven't heard of you.
no subject
Well whoever did, did a pretty good job of it.
[He remembers his earlier costumes or uniforms and well...yeah. He'll say no more. He raises his brow at the fact he said he didn't know him.]
Really? Oh well, uh, that's me.
no subject
I've been asleep for awhile. I'm a little out of the loop.
no subject
Uh, how long is awhile? Y'know what, doesn't matter.
So, you're in the army then?
Super cool when DW eats part of a tag and you don't notice ;|
Steve looks a bit sheepish and supplies the number anyway.]
About seventy years.
[Y'know, give or take.]
Yeah, I was originally with the 107th Infantry. I'm with a different division now.
DW rude :|!
There's a moment of stunned silence as he processes that. Seventy years. That was...a lot more than he expected to hear.]
That's...okay, that's impressive. Musta been some good pills.
The army is really not my strong point. That going okay then?
Very rude :|
Of course, it's almost impossible not to think about it when discussing exactly how he'd slept for seventy years.]
Nah, it wasn't pills. [They don't work on him well anyway.] There was an accident. I was frozen in the arctic. They didn't find me until recently.
[Subject change. Yes, good. That's a direction he can go.]
It's not for everyone. My dad was military. When the war started, I couldn't just sit back. [Shrug, no big deal and it's paired with a sigh.] My new team is off to a rocky start. We'll figure it out.
[Probably. He hopes. They don't really have much of a choice here.]
no subject
He smiles at the talk on teams though. That was something he knew, and rocky starts, oh yeah.]
Trust me, if you don't let what happens get to you all too much, you'll get it. Might not know military, but working in teams I totally get.
[He didn't have a dad so he didn't really know about following someone, but he had Superman and he was always someone Conner chased in some way until recently.]
So you're a real hero, huh? I figure a lot of people didn't have the same thoughts as you when it came to the war. We are talking the big, 2...right?
no subject
The problem is with clashing personalities. [Their big fight in the lab is still really fresh.] We've got a lot of egos on the team.
[But mostly Tony.]
Just doing my duty. [He mutters. He doesn't like the word 'hero' so much. Steve has the ability to help so he does and that's all there is to it.] There were some disagreements but there are always are in a war. It's not easy to have so many lives depending on you.
[He just nods--World War II indeed.]
no subject
Conner struggles to think of a subject change, not that things were maybe getting depressing, but he didn't think it was something easy to talk about.
So, ever been to a place like this before?
no subject
He glances around at the landing pad and shakes his head.]
No, can't say I have. Never been off Earth before, didn't really know anyone could get off Earth not like this.
no subject
no subject
[And here he'd been surprised about the Helicarrier. He owes Fury like $100 now or something.]
no subject
And you know, the whole getting home thing.
no subject
[He nods in agreement.]
I think we're all looking for a way home. I'm hoping if someone finds it, they'll share with the rest of us.
no subject
[He frowns a little at the thought of someone not letting everyone else know. He'd tell everyone he could and tell them to tell others if he found one.]
Hopefully they will.
no subject
[He kind of glances around and looks to see if there are any windows in the place.
Steve would tell everyone too but he knows not everyone has the same intentions.]
It'd be the decent thing to do.
no subject
Not everyone's a decent person unfortunately.
no subject
Yeah, learn that the hard way in our line of work.
no subject
[He isn't thinking army line of work even though he thinks Steve is still talking army wise.]
no subject
They'll tell us. There's no reason to keep it to themselves.
[And he believes the best in people.]
no subject
[He hopes he's wrong. On both ideas.]
no subject
We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. We just gotta trust people to do the right thing.

[He's not letting someone be a scapegoat.]
