You’re not sure how it happened.

A minute ago, you had somewhere to go, someplace to be. Maybe something important to do, or maybe you were just going out to buy groceries. Whatever it was, it doesn’t matter anymore.

You’re in some kind of transport -- a shuttle, given the turbulence and the sounds outside. You’re surrounded by strangers, some of whom might not even be the same species you are. There’s no point in asking. They don’t know how they got here either. The cockpit’s blocked off, like someone forgot to put in a door, and not even a glance at your omni-tool -- a holographic interface accessible by merely tapping the sensor on your left arm -- is any help.

You’ve only got a minute or so before the shuttle starts descending. There aren’t any windows -- this doesn’t look like a shuttle meant for long trips. When it finally touches down, the doors open automatically.

Before you are landing pads, abandoned equipment scattered about. There are other shuttles landing, and whether you like it or not, you’re going to have to get off before yours dumps you out the door. Turn around, and you’re met with a hazy skyline, only half the buildings seem to be coming from above.

From what I've heard, it doesn't get much better. Couldn't tell you for sure.

[He nods in agreement.]

I think we're all looking for a way home. I'm hoping if someone finds it, they'll share with the rest of us.

Ugh, seriously? I feel like I need to find somewhere clean and with some sun and just sprawl out. It's too...dull here.

[He frowns a little at the thought of someone not letting everyone else know. He'd tell everyone he could and tell them to tell others if he found one.]

[He kind of glances around and looks to see if there are any windows in the place.

Steve would tell everyone too but he knows not everyone has the same intentions.]

It'd be the decent thing to do.

It has to have something cause I'm not feeling any weaker. [Trying to look out of the station didn't help, there was lead here and there and his vision wasn't going as far as it usually could. Which was strange.]

Not everyone's a decent person unfortunately.

[He looks a bit confused--what does the sun have to do with how he feels? He can understand being a little down about it not being around but the phrasing is strange.]

Yeah, learn that the hard way in our line of work.

Ha! Yeah.

[He isn't thinking army line of work even though he thinks Steve is still talking army wise.]

[Either way, they're in agreement. At some point, he'll learn exactly what Steve means.]

They'll tell us. There's no reason to keep it to themselves.

[And he believes the best in people.]

If it's to do with torture they'll let us know. But as much as I'd want them to if it isn't, they might not. Being realistic. Power's another thing that could mean they won't tell us.

[He hopes he's wrong. On both ideas.]

We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. We just gotta trust people to do the right thing.

And give them hell to pay when we do. Hope it's not going to be misplaced.

I've heard plenty of those declarations. We'll have to be sure before taking any drastic actions.

[He's not letting someone be a scapegoat.]

I'm not the rush in kind of guy. Well, not as much as I used to be.

Don't worry, I'll make doubly sure not to bash heads unless there's a reason and keep the heat vision to a minimum.

Heat vision? Sounds pretty useful.

[Steve looks a little surprised. He's not used to heroes that are actually mutated though with the Hulk, maybe he shouldn't be. Just seems like a strange thing to just have randomly happen.]

I appreciate the restraint. We don't always get so lucky with people who are stronger than the rest of them.

Well that sounds like a story, though I understand if you don't want to tell it.

[He'll be more than happy to listen.]

[He shrugs a little. He doesn't mind.]

Nothing special. My powers were kind of developing and the vision thing was all over the place. I couldn't use it when I wanted to and sometimes it would fire off if I was mad. [He looks at his hands.] Gets easier as I get older.

Glad to hear you're gaining control over it.

[Otherwise that could be a little bit of a problem on a space station. Steve is suitably impressed however.]

It sounds like it would have been frustrating.

[And Steve knows frustrating.]

Practice and natural maturing seem to be helping. And frustrating is one word for it.

This one time, I got angry at Supes and they fired off and hit him. Didn't mean it obviously and thankfully he knew that.

[Just a little bit of a problem.]

So you said America, gonna take a wild guess and say that we're probably from the same world...or a similar one any way.

I don't know him either. [He's pretty sure he'd remember someone with a nickname like 'Supes'.] I'm glad he was understanding. It can be disheartening to be berated for something that was out of your control.

[Still, he can see that's not a good thing. What if he'd hit someone that couldn't take it?]

Sounds that way. I'd say similar if you haven't heard of my team or members of it. There's been quite a bit of media.

[It's always a little bit of a surprise when he hears people don't know Superman. In the different verses he knew of there was always some form of Supes. Whether he was good or bad.]

What's the name? I might have but there's a few teams around that make it into the news.

No, can't say I do.

[He wishes he] could say yes just so they'd be on the same page but alas, definitely hasn't heard of anyone that calls themselves Superman.

My team is The Avengers. Iron Man is in the news the most.

Damn. Looks like a different world kind of deal. Never heard of The Avengers, or Iron Man.

[That was a little bit of a bummer, but really, it was to be expected with so many different versions of...everything.]

[He had hoped. If there are heroes in his world that he hadn't heard of then maybe all wouldn't be lost when it came to Loki and the Chitauri. No such luck it looks like.]

Having another helping hand around here would be a good thing.
