what. Adjutants assemble!
where. Zeta District
when. During the event. All of it. Who needs sleep?
warnings. violence, cursing, douchebaggery
[Omega wasn't exactly a vacation spot, but it wasn't knee-deep in Reaper territory either. Shepard and the crew had had something of a reprieve from the war even if Shepard was still pissed he was stuck on the space station.
And now the war had found him again. It was time to get back to work. How ironic would it be to have helped Aria take Omega back only to lose it to Reapers? On top of that, the newcomers to the universe probably had no idea what was going on.
That explains why Shepard is out and armed to the teeth. He hasn't taken a break since the first Adjutant sighting. He's operating on caffeine, discipline, and the fact that he's just plain pissed.
He's not cutting corners either, throwing himself into larger groups to clear out safe areas for people. Vanguards are always a force to be reckoned with, and Shepard is no exception.
So maybe you're in over your head, maybe you're trying to help out, or maybe you just don't have a clue what's going on. Whatever the case, Commander Shepard is probably in your area.]

The 1st day, night-time?
Not a man to sit and wait, he decided to just check the surrounding area for any suspicious activity. Shepard will come across him checking a dark and dim alleyway.]
sounds good
You lost?
no subject
No. I don't see how it's any of your business either.
no subject
Excuse me for the concern then. Maybe I'll just let you get back to skulking in the darkness then, if that's okay with you.

second day // afternoon
Unfortunately, Kengo's body is in no shape to be running around like this. At the current point, he's hidden himself behind the front entrance of a shop, pressing his back against the half-wall and keeping his head down. His omni-tool is the only thing making him especially visible, his black case clasped in that hand and a heavy pistol in his other. Picking up a discarded weapon had seemed like a good idea at the time, though Kengo wasn't even sure if it was loaded or how to check.
A few minutes was all he needed and then maybe he could start again...]
no subject
Then he proceeds to take their heads off one by one with his deadly shotgun. Though he's obviously got the advantage, he does look slightly worn down from his day of fighting.]
no subject
Another minute or two and while he's aggravated by the delay, he's up and on his way to Shepard. By the time he gets over to the Commander's position however, it looks as though everything's been taken care of.
At least that seemed to answer his question about whether the other was in danger or not. Kengo stands a few yards behind him, trying to make himself look as unthreatening as possible -- which when you're a high schooler dressed in a school uniform, isn't hard to do.]
Are you all right?
no subject
That's a question I'm used to asking myself. I'm fine.

Second Day | Late Evening
After one last warp the creature will go down with a gurgle and Liara will lean heavily against the crate, trying to get even five minutes of rest before she'll be up and onto the next area that needs help.]
no subject
He's been tracking that same Adjutant, and when he rounds a corner and sees it go down, he holsters his shotgun and carefully makes his way over the debris and towards where the shots had come from.]
Hey, any friendlies around?
[Because he doesn't know it's Liara yet.]
no subject
But Liara will turn and give a small if tired smile when he approaches.]
You could say that, Shepard.
no subject
You look worn out. I think I've got a free schedule right now if you'd like an escort back to Mordin's clinic.

Random day and time woo!
But why worry about that just now? He had the energy still and there was so many of these things, there were so many civilians that he couldn't just sit back and do nothing.
Conner doesn't know where he is and he doesn't care. He's currently forcing an Adjutant into the air and closing at TK field around it, hoping the force and pressure would crush it.]
I've faced off with bigger and uglier things than you and they actually gave me a challenge.
awwwyeh
He's forcing his own enemy Adjutant into the air with a shockwave, the blue energy field just barely fading around his body before he explodes forward to hit the creature with a biotic charge. His momentum carries him and his shredded foe into the line of sight of Conner, and Shepard is there just in time to witness the death of another enemy.
They're mostly safe at the moment, so he takes a moment to catch his breath and check his shotgun while Conner finishes off his opponent.]
no subject
A quick scan of the area told him that for now nothing was there. Conner walks over.]
That was a pretty sweet move there.

I could say the same for you.

day 3
The one tiny difference Shepard may notice is that stick is currently being used to hold off a pair of the Adjutant with a stream of lightning. This is what happens when monsters wander too close to her tiny apartment.]
Wretched creatures, have you no easier prey to pursue?
no subject
So the stick's not just for show.
no subject
[The ones tied to the very top of the staff, that was. Every mage was expected to have some eccentricity. She's more than willing to lower the staff once the pair are finished, conserving the magical energy. Unlike those 'guns' her strength was not apparently endless.]

Day one!
[But the adjutants jar him back into reality. He'd only seen vids and holos after his own Shepard returned from helping Aria liberate Omega, and, as most other terrors brought about by this awful war, they didn't do the real abominations any justice.]
[He sorely wishes they did]
[But that was then, this is now, and there are people to help and evil monsters to kill]
[Garrus radios in to what he hopes is this Shepard's channel, his rifle poised and ready to fire at a moment's notice]
Got room for one more?
no subject
It's good to hear the voice of his old friend on the other end. Sure, they're from entirely different universes and Garrus probably doesn't trust him near as much as his own Shepard, but that doesn't change the fact that he'll always be the same Garrus to Shepard, the same turian that he'd rely on no matter what was happening.]
You shoot as good as the Garrus I know?
no subject
And that's saying a lot.
[You can practically hear the smirk]
You've got a couple coming up on your right flank. I'll take a couple of potshots. Give 'em something to worry about and then you can clean up.

saturday, midday, right in the very middle of shit. y/y?
much less when it was trying to eat her face.
behind the safety of her helmet, she scowled at the oncoming horde, activating her cloak and easily slipping into the thick of them and letting out a wave of her electric slash. it's enough to knock a lot of them down, getting most of them off of her back, and she takes the few seconds before her cloak deactivates to fire off a few shots from her pistol.
she needs a better gun, because she'd known her rifle wouldn't have done her much good without a decent camping spot, and with these things, it's a moot point.
she's fighting right alongside shepard, and once she realizes that their armor is the same - that they're both n7s - she has to speak up.] How are you holding up, soldier? [she calls out to him, voice just barely loud enough to transfer over even through their comms.]
hells yes
When she speaks up, he can't help but roll his eyes a little to himself. 'Soldier' eh? She must not recognize him. That or she's used to a female Shepard. That shit's getting old, not because he wants recognition since he really doesn't give a shit. It would just be nice to not have to re-introduce himself to people and go through the whole process of proving who he is.
He lets his actions answer her question as he aims a biotic charge at the middle of the biggest group, connects with the Adjutant in front, and then unleashes a Nova to scatter his enemies.]
no subject
because as much as she loves her squad, some of them tend to need babysitting. more often than not.
she doesn't recognize him, no. because her universe's shepard is female, and she's never thought of the possibility of there being more than one. (she needs that explained to her, eventually.) never mind the fact that she's never met her shepard in person, and would feel highly honored if the chance ever presented itself.
this shep won't have to prove who he is. aside from .. yeah, the whole having a penis thing.
she doesn't really expect him to answer, and when he doesn't, she simply reactivates her cloak in order to give herself another chance to get right in the middle of the enemies he's scattered, lashing out with her sword in a wide arc that finishes off more than a handful of them.]
