watch out for falling space debris.
who. Anyone and everyone on the station.
what. Two shuttles come through the relay. Only one makes it through intact - and it's the one bringing in the new recruits.
where. All around the station, but most of the action will probably take place on and around the landing pads.
when. Right now.
warnings. General, mass hysteria. Not much else.
It's that time again. Time for that shuttle to come through the relay and bring in a new batch of people that don't know where they are or why. This is something that everyone has gotten used to, and doesn't think much of.
This time, though, something is different. And because no one is expecting it, it catches the entire station by surprise. Two shuttles come through the relay, and while that's more than surprising enough, what happens next, no one is expecting.
One of the shuttles explodes. Out in the dead of space between the relay and the station, it bursts into a thousand smaller pieces. The debris left behind tells nothing of what had been on the shuttle, or who for that matter, but the fact remains that this wasn't supposed to happen.
Which means people are going to wonder why it happened in the first place.
With the newcomers arriving on the station, there's going to be enough confusion going on, but with the shuttle explosion tacked on to the end? It's going to raise some suspicion.
This log is not only for the newcomers to mingle about, but also to gauge reactions about the shuttle exploding. To speculate on why it happened, and generally allow for all kinds of reactions all throughout the station. You can assume that by the time the shuttle with our new characters has landed, news of the explosion has travelled through most of the station. Please see the OOC post for more information.
Have fun, and try not to freak out too much.

"An organizational system like this wouldn't exist in Guardian Space without being investigated, in which case we're outside the jurisdiction of the Green Lanterns. If the relay you spoke us brought the shuttles through from alternate dimensions, it would be logical to assume the inter-dimensional displacement could be utilized form this side as well, correct?"

His theory about the Omega-4 relay was a little more complex than she wanted to admit. Sighing and running a han over her face she thought about his question.
"In theory the inter-dimensional displacement could be reactivate just the same as when the shuttles come through, although the issue stands is that we don't know why it's acting the way it is. As far as it's known the Omega-4 relay only connects to a relay at the galaxy's centre disk which is just exploding stars and black holes. It's never done this before so it's unknown how we would get it to reverse the process from this side."

He was still trying piece together an answer. Having a theory at least gave him a place to begin in trying to find a way back to Oa.
"I suppose it could be possible that energy feedback from the stellar activity at the other relay could cause this one to malfunction, creating a rift in the dimensional barrier...though you make it sound as if this phenomenon is recent, which means the relay was previously capable of withstanding that kind of energy flux...how frequently has the relay been displaying this behavior?"

"This has only been happening for a couple of months now, the fact that shuttle are bringing people out of the Omega-4 relay from other worlds and dimensions is highly disturbing. Something is very wrong there."

His posture changed as he considered his next question, shifting his weight slightly as he glanced around the shuttle bay, catching sight of the other new arrivals.
"If there is no way off the station, so you have any general advice or is there any recommended process for newly displaced persons?"

Following his gaze to the other new arrivals, Pax couldn't help but know how crappy everything must seem for the majority of them.

"Would you be able to offer direction to this Zeta district?"

She'll gesture behind her to where the elevator was, the only indication it was there was the slightly different stained metal against the rest of it.

"A guide would be most appreciated, if it won't trouble you too much."
