what. Two shuttles come through the relay. Only one makes it through intact - and it's the one bringing in the new recruits.
where. All around the station, but most of the action will probably take place on and around the landing pads.

It's that time again. Time for that shuttle to come through the relay and bring in a new batch of people that don't know where they are or why. This is something that everyone has gotten used to, and doesn't think much of.

This time, though, something is different. And because no one is expecting it, it catches the entire station by surprise. Two shuttles come through the relay, and while that's more than surprising enough, what happens next, no one is expecting.

One of the shuttles explodes. Out in the dead of space between the relay and the station, it bursts into a thousand smaller pieces. The debris left behind tells nothing of what had been on the shuttle, or who for that matter, but the fact remains that this wasn't supposed to happen.

Which means people are going to wonder why it happened in the first place.

With the newcomers arriving on the station, there's going to be enough confusion going on, but with the shuttle explosion tacked on to the end? It's going to raise some suspicion.

This log is not only for the newcomers to mingle about, but also to gauge reactions about the shuttle exploding. To speculate on why it happened, and generally allow for all kinds of reactions all throughout the station. You can assume that by the time the shuttle with our new characters has landed, news of the explosion has travelled through most of the station. Please see the OOC post for more information.

Frowning, Lydia glances around trying to see if she recognizes anyone that might have a better idea.

"I think it's something everyone's eager to find out, but I don't think anyone has any answers. Usually, it's just one shuttle - not two."

Elena hesitates. She really doesn't know much about this world to have any real authority and she doesn't want to necessarily start something, but she can't help but wonder.

"You don't think it's possible it was set up somehow, do you?"

[sucking]

"Oh," Lydia starts, "I'm sure it was set up, but it's just a matter that there are so many different reasons why it could've happened, that it's going to be difficult to sort out who had the best reasons."

Was there even a CSI: Omega around here?

Elena knows she probably shouldn't get involved. She gets involved in things and they go poorly quickly. It's just a law of nature. But she has a penchant for getting involved in things she's better off staying out of, so she continues speculating.

"Can you think of any off the top of your head?"

Yeah, she really needs a life coach.

[sucking]

Normally, Lydia might have a slight inkling of what's going on, but she's been out of the loop for a week and still trying to settle into her day to day life.

"Honestly? Not really. I'm still trying to learn about all the different aliens here."

"You haven't been here very long then?" Elena tilts her head a little. Part of her hopes the answer is yes because there's something reassuring that. But another part of her hopes the answer is no because that's more reassuring that at least one of them has an idea of how to navigate this place.

[sucking]

Lydia shakes her head, "A few months. I suffered some memory loss recently, so the last week is slightly blurry."

It's the easiest way to explain that she had been unconscious and dreaming of being back home.

"You're okay now, right?" Elena's brow furrows a little. They just met, but that doesn't really stop Elena from being concerned. But it's also just generally good to know whether or not this place was going to turn into Momento at a moment's notice.
