watch out for falling space debris.
who. Anyone and everyone on the station.
what. Two shuttles come through the relay. Only one makes it through intact - and it's the one bringing in the new recruits.
where. All around the station, but most of the action will probably take place on and around the landing pads.
when. Right now.
warnings. General, mass hysteria. Not much else.
It's that time again. Time for that shuttle to come through the relay and bring in a new batch of people that don't know where they are or why. This is something that everyone has gotten used to, and doesn't think much of.
This time, though, something is different. And because no one is expecting it, it catches the entire station by surprise. Two shuttles come through the relay, and while that's more than surprising enough, what happens next, no one is expecting.
One of the shuttles explodes. Out in the dead of space between the relay and the station, it bursts into a thousand smaller pieces. The debris left behind tells nothing of what had been on the shuttle, or who for that matter, but the fact remains that this wasn't supposed to happen.
Which means people are going to wonder why it happened in the first place.
With the newcomers arriving on the station, there's going to be enough confusion going on, but with the shuttle explosion tacked on to the end? It's going to raise some suspicion.
This log is not only for the newcomers to mingle about, but also to gauge reactions about the shuttle exploding. To speculate on why it happened, and generally allow for all kinds of reactions all throughout the station. You can assume that by the time the shuttle with our new characters has landed, news of the explosion has travelled through most of the station. Please see the OOC post for more information.
Have fun, and try not to freak out too much.

y u mad tho.
Derek's gaze hardens as he stares at that pointing finger, looking from it to the one scowling at him, and then folds his arms across his chest.
"If I could tell you, I would."
u kno y
And he showed up when a shuttle had exploded. That was just suspicious in and of itself, and it made Stiles squint at him.
"What's the last thing you were even doing, huh, bucko?"
nope clueless.
Yes. He just said that. And he gets the feeling that this conversation is going to get old very quickly, and as if on cue, he feels the headache beginning to ache behind his eyes.
His own gaze narrows. "Worrying about a pack of Alphas," he says with a bit of hesitance. "Why?"
derek pls.
"So you're not behind - a pack of Alphas." Stiles is immediately derailed from being glad that Derek's about up to speed with them, to being abjectly horrified. "When was that? How long have you known about that? This is what I mean about not sharing shit, asshole!"
He is basically yelling, waving his arms around at Derek. Some of the aliens are starting to look at them funny, so he tries to calm down a little, but he's still seething.
stiles plz.
He heaves a sigh, wanting to grab the younger by the collar of his shirt and make him be still, be quiet, but he somehow manages not to for the time being. If Stiles is going to pitch a fit about him showing up here - wherever here is - and then start going off about the Alphas, there isn't a whole lot he can do other than stand there and wait for him to get it out of his system.
He does end up grabbing his arms, though, and holds them down at his sides. "Just. Stop. For a second." He tries to take a steadying breath and only succeeds in scowling at the other. "I haven't known for very long, all right? I'm not intentionally keeping things from you. For once."
C:
"First Lydia almost disappears, then you show up, and a shuttle explodes. That all seems a little fishy," he tells Derek, giving him the stinkiest of eyes.
the stinkiest of eyes omfg asflkh
Oh, it's pretty damn hard not to say that out loud, but he grits his teeth against it once Stiles yanks his arms free.
Even if he's rethinking that once all of that speculation on what had happened to the other shuttle gets practically shoved in his face. His eyes narrow, and he looks at Stiles like he's lost his fucking mind. "You'd better not be implying you think I had something to do with that shuttle exploding," he says carefully, articulating every single word that comes out of his mouth.
crazy eyes
Stiles lowers his voice to a hiss, but it makes his meaning clear: he does not trust Derek on this station. He knows, realistically, that Derek probably had nothing to do with the shuttle, but damn it, he doesn't need all his home world problems coming to nest on Omega as well.
your face is crazy
He doesn't have time for your bullshit. "What could I have possibly done to make that happen? Huh?" Seriously. He doesn't get that the other can make such wild assumptions, even if he's used to them by now. It just never ceases to amaze him, whether he openly admits it or not.
your butt is crazy i saw it on the internet
He folds his arms as well, looking at Derek again. "Look, I'm gonna make this clear. I don't want you around Scott or Lydia. You leave us alone, we leave you alone. Okay?"
Stiles knows that Derek isn't a bad guy, objectively. But he also remembers what Derek did to Jackson, and he doesn't want to deal with it. He wants to keep these problems away from his friends.
hey i gotta pay the bills somehow
Stiles and Lydia might not trust him, and honestly, Scott might not either - but the latter of the three might be easier to deal with as far as collecting information goes.
He doesn't say anything about being told to stay away from them. And he isn't going to until he gets some answers.
dirty boy
"I'm not telling you. Did you miss the part where I told you to stay away from him?"
Stiles puts his hands on his hips, glaring at the older man.
"So just leave us alone."
