watch out for falling space debris.
who. Anyone and everyone on the station.
what. Two shuttles come through the relay. Only one makes it through intact - and it's the one bringing in the new recruits.
where. All around the station, but most of the action will probably take place on and around the landing pads.
when. Right now.
warnings. General, mass hysteria. Not much else.
It's that time again. Time for that shuttle to come through the relay and bring in a new batch of people that don't know where they are or why. This is something that everyone has gotten used to, and doesn't think much of.
This time, though, something is different. And because no one is expecting it, it catches the entire station by surprise. Two shuttles come through the relay, and while that's more than surprising enough, what happens next, no one is expecting.
One of the shuttles explodes. Out in the dead of space between the relay and the station, it bursts into a thousand smaller pieces. The debris left behind tells nothing of what had been on the shuttle, or who for that matter, but the fact remains that this wasn't supposed to happen.
Which means people are going to wonder why it happened in the first place.
With the newcomers arriving on the station, there's going to be enough confusion going on, but with the shuttle explosion tacked on to the end? It's going to raise some suspicion.
This log is not only for the newcomers to mingle about, but also to gauge reactions about the shuttle exploding. To speculate on why it happened, and generally allow for all kinds of reactions all throughout the station. You can assume that by the time the shuttle with our new characters has landed, news of the explosion has travelled through most of the station. Please see the OOC post for more information.
Have fun, and try not to freak out too much.

presses hands to face.
He goes to the landing pad because he knows Lydia will probably end up over there, working at the clinic - even if he's cheesed she just went back to work like she didn't spend nearly a week in some stranger's apartment unconscious.
And also, he holds out a vague hope that sometimes he might run into someone he knows. He's not naming names, but he can hope, right?
Except this time, shoving through the aliens and giving the even-more-cranky-than-usual Batarians a wide berth, he spots a familiar head of hair. And shirt, because he remembers that shirt.
"Scott?" He says, partly to himself, and then, heart beating in his chest faster, getting a little excited and pushing towards the figure, "Scott!"
That has to be his best friend - he'd recognize him anywhere.

"Oh my god, Stiles, what are you doing here?" he calls, waving.
Things are looking up now, maybe this isn't anywhere close to Beacon Hills and maybe he's surrounded by aliens, but his best friend's here too. It can't be that bad.
((by the way, is stiles wearing ridiculous mass effect future couture? because scott will make stupid jokes about it))
no subject
"I should be asking you that," Stiles says when he lets Scott go, gesturing in a way that indicated all of his best friend, somehow. "I'm here cause I've been here. For like, a whole month! Without you, dude, way to come late!"
This is, of course, Stiles not talking about how homesick he's been in general, or how he's been missing his father. Or that Lydia's here, yet.
(( stiles is sadly wearing normal stiles clothing :c also if i take a little longer to reply i'm about to go out so. ))

"A month?" Scott frowns. "But I just saw you, like, yesterday."
Because obviously both of them showing up in space is plausible, but showing up at different times is the part the makes no sense at all. Obviously.
Anyway he's got this idea that Stiles is more upset than he lets on, because they have been friends for years and Stiles has never been good about sharing his feelings. Not that Scott knows the extent or anything, but he's probably gonna be nosy about it later. Also there are some implications about a whole month that are kind of worrying, like where did he live and how the heck are they supposed to get home from here?
((don't worry about it i am like the last person who will complain about taking time on tags i take a while myself even without excuses. also, "you just gestured at all of me!"))

Stiles stares at Scott for a moment because - well, he's not really sure how to deal with that. Lydia just remembered more about from right before she left. Granted, she came through missing some information, but she'd been here at the same time.
"No, dude," Stiles says, trying to keep his voice level. "I mean, maybe you did but I've definitely been here for a month. Lydia showed up at the same time as me, too. We've been... dealing with it."
It was hard to keep pushing for ways home when everyone kept saying there was no way home, that the relay didn't work. Which was another one of those pesky emotions that Stiles kept pushing to the side.

"So wait, Lydia's here as well? Cause this is already a really freaking weird coincidence." Really, of all the people and places in the universe, all three end up here? It'd at least make sense if they all arrived at the same time, but a whole month sort of ruins that idea. "Who's next, anyway, Coach?"
(Now there's a worrying thought.)
"And how are you?" he adds. "What did you do for a month anyway?"
no subject
He shrugs his shoulders, then pulls an exasperated face. "God, I hope not coach. There'd be no way to keep those four-eyed guys from killing him."
Stiles raises his hands to cup them behind his head, looking at Scott. "Lydia and I got jobs repairing the station. Then she got a better job at the clinic, and this dude is teaching me how to pilot a shuttle."
Conveniently, at the moment, skipping over where he found another shape shifter - at least, that's what he thought she was - that was living with them, after nearly getting ended by Batarians.
"Which - dude, you'll need to find somewhere to stay, so you should just stay with us."
