There was no shortage of people that needed the expert opinion of a medical doctor on Omega. It just so happened, Mordin was also one of the best and even though his clinic was still growing; it was busy at times. There were a number of his assistants bustling about at any given time but that was good. It meant there was business and it meant people were being helped.

Mordin was almost always in his clinic. He spent a grand total of two hours sleeping and some days, well, it just didn't happen. There were more important things to do than waste time asleep. The people of Omega needed him and there was always since to be done. He was always open to conversation and visitors so long as he wasn't with a patient.

So here he is, if anyone needs him, muttering under his breath about some science thing or another.

Being around a salarian wasn't anything new for Kengo, especially since his boss at Ariake Technologies happened to be one. What a salarian was doing working for a shop that specialized in weapons and armor for humans and turians was something Kengo hadn't figured out, but the salarian certainly knew his way around omni-tools. When the other approached him, Kengo bowed his head out of habit and made his way over to the table. He put his hands on either side of his body and lifted himself up, feeling increasingly awkward as time went on.

Where could he even start describing his condition?

"I've had the same condition for as long as I can remember. It's not necessarily a temporary thing and I'm not sure if you can help me. No one back where I'm from could ever figure it out. If I over-exert myself, I get light headed. Sharp pains." He tapped his fingers against his temple. "If I push too much, I collapse. After I rest for awhile, it seems to get better, but it's always hampered my ability to function as a normal human. I was wondering if you might be able to help."

It was certainly a long shot. Kengo really had no idea when it had started or what had caused it. Anything he would have imagined it to be would have been more constant or killed him by now, he was sure.

"It really only manifests as strong headaches. I can't focus, then it's like my body stops responding to me at all. My breath catches. ... I don't think there's really anything else to it."

Kengo didn't seem bothered by the other's behavior or the quick, rambling speech. He figured it was just because the other was anxious and had a lot of things on his mind. This clinic was certainly a busy place to be. While he listened to the other work, Kengo couldn't help but shift a bit, now starting to look uncomfortable. He didn't really know what all was involved as far as this society's method of examinations and tests.

"I don't recall suffering any injuries. ... I don't know about my father's health issues. He died before I was born and I never had access to that information. I never knew my mother either, so I can't speak for her side of the family." He felt horribly unhelpful and didn't like that he was spilling so much personal info, but it would help things go smoothly.

Again, though the methods were unfamiliar, nothing seemed to be too far over Kengo's head. As Mordin spoke, Kengo was careful to pay attention to everything he said, the look he was getting not helping how uncomfortable he was feeling. When the mention of the blood draw came up, Kengo couldn't help but make a face. Getting blood drawn was something he'd gone through so many times in his life while he tried to figure out what was wrong with him. At this point, it felt like a regular procedure.

Reaching up, Kengo worked on removing his school jacket, neatly folding it up and setting it on the table next to him. By the time he had rolled one sleeve up to his elbow, he suddenly seemed to realize that testing might not be the same as it was back in his own time. How did they take blood nowadays?

"I'm pretty much open to whatever you have to do."

"Two thousand and eleven, actually." Which was, as Kengo had found out, about a hundred and seventy-five years behind the current year. That put a very large gap between the technology he was used to and the current year. Hearing that he had been incorrect about the method made Kengo more curious than embarrassed.

The comment about humans didn't bother him either. To be honest, he realized mankind's achievements and he was proud of them (partially because of what his father had accomplished), but he also recognized that humans had been far behind the other races. Talking to his salarian boss and digging around with what information he could gather had told him that much.

"It's nice to hear that medical technology has advanced that much." Kengo offered the hand of the arm he'd rolled his sleeve up on. "I'm still primarily familiar with my own era's tech, but I've only ever had passing familiarity with medical work." Really, that part was only because of how constantly sick he was.

"I'm sure I've felt worse..." Kengo thought aloud as he watched the process. At this point, he didn't have any issue with needles and he wasn't sure he ever had. It was something he'd encountered too many times with all of the checkups he'd received during his life and all of the other tests that it was really becoming as normal as... well... going to the doctor in the first place. Still, he flinched at the pinch as he always did, his face scruching up a bit from the sensation.
