first impressions. (CLOSED)
who. agents north dakota (
noscope) and wash (
articletwelve)
what. wash bumping into north for the first time.
where. the market district.
when. during this log.
warnings. lots of confusion. lots and lots of that.
South had wandered off on her own for a minute or two, and North was busying himself with looking at a few things that he thought Carolina might like to have for their apartment. Just a few domestic things - some wall decorations and generally anything that might make it feel more like their home than just some place they'd found to reside in.
He wasn't paying much attention to his surroundings for once in his life. His mind was a pleasant haze brought on by spending some actual quality time with his sister, and he was beginning to feel like they'd finally made some headway regarding their spat about his relationship with the other Freelancer.
Well, at the very least, she wasn't screaming at him anymore.
If anyone wanted to bump into him and have him more than just a little surprised, now would be the time. Little did he know of just who it was going to end up being.

Whatever else he was going to say is lost entirely in that question, and Wash gives North an uncertain look, not sure what that means.
"Is she-- I mean, do you guys have your A.I.?"
no subject
Why can't this just be easy? Why?
"I have Theta, yeah. She hasn't been implanted yet."
no subject
"That's-- good," Wash says finally, his stance slowly easing up. "That's good. Is she with you right now?"
There's a pause as the wheels continue turning in Wash's head.
"Wait, which Theta are we talking about?"
no subject
"She's probably still in our apartment .. I just came out with South to do a bit of shopping." And he pauses again, this time squinting.
"The only Theta there ever has been, as far as I'm aware. Are you sure you're okay, Wash? What's with all the questions?"

For all the times he's met alternate versions of his fellow agents, it still gets weird sometimes. Chances are that this North doesn't have a horse, though. That was still the weirdest one.
"So you guys live together?" Wash asks, trying to get this conversation back to something resembling normal.
no subject
North rubs a hand over the back of his neck, and once he thinks he's given him enough time to gather himself, he speaks up again. "Yeah, ever since we got here. And for a while when we were on that other ship." A pause. "Probably sounds a little weird, huh?"
