You’re not sure how it happened.

A minute ago, you had somewhere to go, someplace to be. Maybe something important to do, or maybe you were just going out to buy groceries. Whatever it was, it doesn’t matter anymore.

You’re in some kind of transport -- a shuttle, given the turbulence and the sounds outside. You’re surrounded by strangers, some of whom might not even be the same species you are. There’s no point in asking. They don’t know how they got here either. The cockpit’s blocked off, like someone forgot to put in a door, and not even a glance at your omni-tool -- a holographic interface accessible by merely tapping the sensor on your left arm -- is any help.

You’ve only got a minute or so before the shuttle starts descending. There aren’t any windows -- this doesn’t look like a shuttle meant for long trips. When it finally touches down, the doors open automatically.

Before you are landing pads, abandoned equipment scattered about. There are other shuttles landing, and whether you like it or not, you’re going to have to get off before yours dumps you out the door. Turn around, and you’re met with a hazy skyline, only half the buildings seem to be coming from above.

Whatever. C'mon. The weird guys are lookin' again.

[She doesn't know what compels her, but she looks over her shoulder as he mentions it. They're leering now because it's more than obvious they're lost. At least she has someone with her and she's confident that if it came down to a fight she and Naruto could at least get away...]

Y-Yeah.

[No more dead end, so it's time to quickly get out of here. Under her breath;]

Do you think we can lose them?

[The way she asks it makes him glance at her. Is she nervous? Huh. Well, he'll just have to have twice the confidence to make up for it, right? Besides, he has doubt whatsoever that they can get away, and it shows on his face through a big grin.]

You kidding? If we're really in space, that just means I'm the fastest shinobi among the stars instead of just the planet, y'know.

[Without a word, he just wraps his arm around her midsection and reaches out with his other hand to make a dramatic show of snapping his fingers. Fiery chakra starts like a spark there and then engulfs his entire body before moving onto Ino's.

Then they flash down the hallway, bouncing off the walls and even the ceiling a few times back towards the landing pads since that seemed like the safest spot.

When they finally arrive and Naruto lets Ino back down, he's still grinning. The chakra around him fades since he's lighting up half the area. Then, for some reason, his knees feel weak and shaky. He drops down to one of them and tries to focus his double vision for a second.

What the hell?]

[Naruto doesn't yet understand how things worked here. There's a reason Ino is nervous when otherwise she would stand up to those aliens no problem. They probably had guns and she wanted to avoid those at all costs. She would have to tell Naruto about them too. Though he would probably say something like 'a gun can't hurt me!' or whatever hero saying he thinks will make him look tough.

Or something like being the fastest shinobi among the stars. Geez.

There's a gasp of surprise that's lost behind them somewhere as they take off, flashing all over Omega until they end up back where they began. So fast... it's sort of amazing and she'd say so but with that little show, they've attracted even more attention. She's about to ask him if he's seriously looking for a fight, SERIOUSLY, but he's on his knees and looks winded. Was that supposed to happen? Amazement is replaced with anger is replaced with concern. She drops down to her own knees and places a hand on his shoulder for support.]

Naruto! Don't overdo it like that! [Though they did definitely lose them. She didn't know how the Kyuubi's chakra worked but it looks like it took a lot out of him. It was the same for his Rasenshuriken too, wasn't it?]

Are you alright?

[It's weird as hell. It almost feels like the slight exhaustion that sets in after using Sage Mode for extended periods of time. It's not too bad, especially with Naruto's stamina, but it was entirely unexpected and sneaked up on him. He'll have to ask Kurama about it later, but for now...]

Eh? I'm fine. Just tripped a little.

[And he quickly hops up so she's not concerned. He just grins even wider and nods.]

Well, we shoulda heard from the clones already. Wonder what's up, y'know?

[He tripped? Her brow furrows but well, it's believable. Naruto was a total dork when it came to stuff like that. So she sighs a little, relieved that it wasn't serious or he wasn't hurt or all of the above.]

You tell me, they're your clones. Did they get lost?

[He shrugs. It's not like he knows what they're up to right now since they haven't dispelled.]

Dunno.

[For a moment Ino stares at him, as if waiting for him to say something else. And then she's releasing a sigh.]

Ugh. Well, find out! It's sort of important.

Well, I told them to report back if they found anything.

[Meaning they were gonna poke themselves and poof away.

He rubs the back of his neck because he's getting really impatient for some info. Nodding, he clasps his hands together and somewhere in Omega, a bunch of clones disappear. One was probably eating some food somewhere too.

Then Naruto stares off into space for a moment as he files away all the info.]

[That must mean they didn't find anything? But in a new place, with Naruto not knowing anything that's going on, you would think they would find PLENTY.

He gets a sort of spaced (haha get it?) off look about him and Ino leans closer.]

So? What did you find out?

Um, that way is towards where the... bar? I guess. There's a big... thing... standing guard.

[He points as he talks to point out everything to her. Also, the bar is obviously Afterlife, and the 'big thing' is the elcor bouncer.]

Over there goes to some shops. Ehhhh, guess there's rooms where people stay on the other side.

[He looks distraught as he folds his arms over his chest.]

This place is weird and there are lots of weird... people here.

[She didn't need to know about a bar, seeing as they're underage. She finds it a bit funny that Naruto thinks that's something worth telling her but she supposed it was good to get a complete layout of the area.

Shops and rooms are more useful and she smiles before noting his expression. A hand pats his shoulder and she looks determined.]

Don't worry, we'll be fine! It's like you said! We're not alone, right?

[He knows about the bar and felt the need to mention it because everybody his clones asked about how to get home always directed them to Afterlife. Obviously, it's an important place to know about.

And he's a little off right now because they didn't find a way back, not a single clue. Still, the moment passes and he puts on a grin for Ino.]

Yep, we'll be fine. It's just a little diversion is all, y'know.

[Diversion? Those were plenty. Being here was an diversion in and of itself from the war.]

Little, huh?

[With another look around, it's anything but little. But nothing to do about it.]

Right.

[He snickers. Yes, it's a little one in his mind. It's just going to... take a little bit longer to get back is all.]

[He pounds his fist to his hand and flashes a determined grin.]

Maybe it's time we go talk to that Aria person I keep hearin' about.

[Or his clones keep hearing about. Whatever.]
