You’re not sure how it happened.

A minute ago, you had somewhere to go, someplace to be. Maybe something important to do, or maybe you were just going out to buy groceries. Whatever it was, it doesn’t matter anymore.

You’re in some kind of transport -- a shuttle, given the turbulence and the sounds outside. You’re surrounded by strangers, some of whom might not even be the same species you are. There’s no point in asking. They don’t know how they got here either. The cockpit’s blocked off, like someone forgot to put in a door, and not even a glance at your omni-tool -- a holographic interface accessible by merely tapping the sensor on your left arm -- is any help.

You’ve only got a minute or so before the shuttle starts descending. There aren’t any windows -- this doesn’t look like a shuttle meant for long trips. When it finally touches down, the doors open automatically.

Before you are landing pads, abandoned equipment scattered about. There are other shuttles landing, and whether you like it or not, you’re going to have to get off before yours dumps you out the door. Turn around, and you’re met with a hazy skyline, only half the buildings seem to be coming from above.

Don't think I've ever heard of Sur'kesh. [Hands on her hips, she finally stops and settles in front of him, hair draping over her shoulder.] Sounds exotic.

Known for lush vegetation and humid climate. Large bio-diverse jungle and ocean cover much of planet. Aesthetically pleasing but dangerous to unwary. Salarian focus on preservation to maintain natural habitat.

[He nods, that's about right.]

Would likely be considered exotic. Often do not allow tourists on homeworld. Attempt to refrain from harming environment.

Tourists are pretty harmless, though, right? It's the other guys you gotta worry about. The ones chasin' after money instead of wanting you to have alla theirs.

[Firm nod. That's right, Shea.]

Balance of ecosystem sensitive. Salarian wish to continue preservation. Homeworld incredibly important. Do not wish extinction cycle humans have begun. Arrival of Tourists synonymous with greed. Problem hand and hand. Inseparable from one another.

[Sorry Shea, they just can’t risk it.]

Salarian homeworld also full of dangers. Prefer quiet life. Peace.

[Or what passes for it as a salarian. They pretty much work until they drop. Their minds work too fast for anything else. There's always something new to learn.

There's a pause and he blinks.]
