intro log
who. everyone!
what. entering omega.
where. landing pads
when. today
warnings. none for now
You’re not sure how it happened.
A minute ago, you had somewhere to go, someplace to be. Maybe something important to do, or maybe you were just going out to buy groceries. Whatever it was, it doesn’t matter anymore.
You’re in some kind of transport -- a shuttle, given the turbulence and the sounds outside. You’re surrounded by strangers, some of whom might not even be the same species you are. There’s no point in asking. They don’t know how they got here either. The cockpit’s blocked off, like someone forgot to put in a door, and not even a glance at your omni-tool -- a holographic interface accessible by merely tapping the sensor on your left arm -- is any help.
You’ve only got a minute or so before the shuttle starts descending. There aren’t any windows -- this doesn’t look like a shuttle meant for long trips. When it finally touches down, the doors open automatically.
Before you are landing pads, abandoned equipment scattered about. There are other shuttles landing, and whether you like it or not, you’re going to have to get off before yours dumps you out the door. Turn around, and you’re met with a hazy skyline, only half the buildings seem to be coming from above.
Welcome to Omega.
ooc notes
You’re free to expand past the landing area, but please start all threads here. Please remember that your character will not have housing until Aria makes a post granting it; it’ll be on
outsiders and linked here when it goes up.

if they're going to find themselves in yet another unfamiliar situation, he's more than happy to have her with him - because especially back on the tranquility, she'd been a calming presence even when things seemed like they were getting out of hand, and he doesn't think that this is going to be any different.
he's still smiling at her from behind his helmet, and he shakes his head.] I have no idea .. and it looks like there are a lot of people here that have no idea what's going on, either. [he pauses, tilting his head to the side.] Did you see South? It looks like she's here, too. And .. York.
[he's going to wait to tell her that york, in this case, is a woman - but he'll get to that later.
the question about theta has the ai's hologram appearing at his right shoulder, and he looks over at him very quickly - but not before the little guy has a chance to say:] Carolina! It's so weird here! Have you seen the -
[and north cuts him off in such a way that he doesn't have time to finish, because he doesn't know what people think about artificial intelligences around here - and he doesn't exactly want anyone to think that theta is a threat. with a stern glare from behind his visor, it's enough for the ai to detect that he isn't very pleased with his sudden appearance, and his hologram flickers out - though not without a sulky little blink before he disappears entirely.
north turns his attention back to carolina.] He's scared. Restless. About what you'd expect when you find yourself in a place you've never been before. I'm trying to keep him calm.
no subject
it'll be a new concept once they get to that. for now, carolina tends to assume there's only one of everyone.
she nods to his question, moving to cross her arms over her chest.] I saw her. York's here though? I didn't see him.
[she's startled when theta actually appears, and she's about to insist that he hide himself away again before north manages to shut him down. she should have realized asking would have gotten his attention but she hadn't realized theta had gotten comfortable enough with her to just appear like that. she's glad when he disappears, even if she's looking around to try and gauge who might have seen.
hopefully if anyone had, they would assume it was something like the devices on their wrists.] I see. We should get our bearings, then. Where did South and York go?
no subject
and it's still going to be weird referring to york as a she, but it's something that they're going to have to get used to. once he gets around to actually .. letting her know .. that .. yeah.
all right, here goes.] About that. York's .. no the York we know.
[by which he means that she's a lady and most definitely not james.
and having dealt with theta for the time being, he can let himself relax again, if only just a little. when she says that they need to get their bearings and figure out what to do with themselves, he stops and wonders just .. where that's supposed to be.] I'm not sure where they went, actually. I think South went off on her own to scope the place out - I asked her not to, but you know she doesn't listen to me. York seemed pretty intent on finding out where she was in the first place.
[yeah. he just said she. pick up on that, miss.]
no subject
...ah. well. that's. something.] 'She?'
no subject
he sighs, and chuckles a bit.] Yeah. I guess .. we're the same where she's from, but .. she's just a woman. Can you even imagine that?
no subject
huh.
alright.
she shakes her head.] Not really. I always imagined most of his personality came from his dick.
[yup. she said it.] Does she... act the same?
no subject
so .. adapt, right?
and there's a kind of cough-snort-choke sound that comes out of his mouth at that comment.] Yeah - for the most part. [TOTALLY IGNORING THAT.] I mean, I can't tell much of a difference in personality aside from the fact that she's .. well, a she.
no subject
still, it's very strange to think of york as anything other than what he is, so that'll take a bit of time to get used to. she tilts her head to the side and chuckles at that.] I see. Well. That'll be... interesting.
no subject
he can't help but to scoff a little at that.] I don't think interesting is the word for it, but I'll go with it.
