intro log

who. everyone!
what. entering omega.
where. landing pads
when. today
warnings. none for now

You’re not sure how it happened.

A minute ago, you had somewhere to go, someplace to be. Maybe something important to do, or maybe you were just going out to buy groceries. Whatever it was, it doesn’t matter anymore.

You’re in some kind of transport -- a shuttle, given the turbulence and the sounds outside. You’re surrounded by strangers, some of whom might not even be the same species you are. There’s no point in asking. They don’t know how they got here either. The cockpit’s blocked off, like someone forgot to put in a door, and not even a glance at your omni-tool -- a holographic interface accessible by merely tapping the sensor on your left arm -- is any help.

You’ve only got a minute or so before the shuttle starts descending. There aren’t any windows -- this doesn’t look like a shuttle meant for long trips. When it finally touches down, the doors open automatically.

Before you are landing pads, abandoned equipment scattered about. There are other shuttles landing, and whether you like it or not, you’re going to have to get off before yours dumps you out the door. Turn around, and you’re met with a hazy skyline, only half the buildings seem to be coming from above.

Welcome to Omega.

ooc notes
You’re free to expand past the landing area, but please start all threads here. Please remember that your character will not have housing until Aria makes a post granting it; it’ll be on [community profile] outsiders and linked here when it goes up.

[The curious blink earns the alien a flash of a smile, corners of his mouth curling up just a little before it's gone. Getting weird looks from strangers isn't something new, and from a quick glance over the crowd, he's quick to notice that despite the ratio of aliens to humans here in the docking bays, he's the odd one out in his red-and-black costume. Which means the look was more likely for the costume than his species.

'The benefit of experience'. So he was either used to being dragged onto space stations out of the blue, or he knew the place. The continuation confirmed the latter, and although Robin isn't exactly sure what it is that puts the grim edge to his look, he doesn't ask.]

Not sure I'd call it a trip. I didn't think my car had turned into a boom tube when I climbed into it. [He gives a small grin and then turns to survey the skyline. It's not unlike Gotham - if you turned parts of the city upside down - but it's still unlike anything he's seen before, leaving him wondering just where in the universe he's ended up. Added to his lack of familiarity with any of the alien species here, and Robin isn't entirely sure he's remained in the same Galaxy.] So is all of 'Omega' this bright and cheery or are they spoiling us with it's best bits?

[ If anything, the youth's general nonchalance was starting to surprise the drell more than his costume was. Thane's used to Omega, used to being dragged around to dark, dangerous corners of the galaxy on ships that travel faster than light. Robin was dropped here with barely so much as a station name to go off of, and was taking it better than most of the other refugees.

Strange. Thane watches him smile again, and can only respond with a minute, birdlike head tilt.

(He's also going to glaze over the fact that he has no idea what a 'boom tube' is. Kids and their crazy slang...!)
]

Not unless you would define 'bright' and 'cheery' as neon and crime-ridden, respectively. [ 'It's the cesspool of the Milky Way,' he means to say, in his own deadpan way. A small gesture to the area around them. ] This is, perhaps, the best of it.

[Taking it better might not have been what he was doing. The situation back home was less than desirable and he'd much rather be there dealing with issues that required his attention than waking up in space all of a sudden. That said, this wasn't his first random trip into space and so he could handle that part much better.]

You mean it doesn't mean that on this side of space? [Take that however you want Thane, but Tim's lips pull up just a tiny bit more. At least if he's going to be stuck here for some time, he's going to have something to occupy his mind and keep him in shape.] Neon and crime-ridden, hu? Sounds like home.
