intro log
who. everyone!
what. entering omega.
where. landing pads
when. today
warnings. none for now
You’re not sure how it happened.
A minute ago, you had somewhere to go, someplace to be. Maybe something important to do, or maybe you were just going out to buy groceries. Whatever it was, it doesn’t matter anymore.
You’re in some kind of transport -- a shuttle, given the turbulence and the sounds outside. You’re surrounded by strangers, some of whom might not even be the same species you are. There’s no point in asking. They don’t know how they got here either. The cockpit’s blocked off, like someone forgot to put in a door, and not even a glance at your omni-tool -- a holographic interface accessible by merely tapping the sensor on your left arm -- is any help.
You’ve only got a minute or so before the shuttle starts descending. There aren’t any windows -- this doesn’t look like a shuttle meant for long trips. When it finally touches down, the doors open automatically.
Before you are landing pads, abandoned equipment scattered about. There are other shuttles landing, and whether you like it or not, you’re going to have to get off before yours dumps you out the door. Turn around, and you’re met with a hazy skyline, only half the buildings seem to be coming from above.
Welcome to Omega.
ooc notes
You’re free to expand past the landing area, but please start all threads here. Please remember that your character will not have housing until Aria makes a post granting it; it’ll be on

The last thing he wants to do is goad him. He avoids anything that might suggest he actually wants to fight.]
Can't we just talk this out?
[He would certainly prefer it. If not, he'll just go about blocking each of the punches. Steve's decent at hand-to-hand and his head is pretty collected. If Dun gets close enough though, he'll get his feet swept out from under him.]
no subject
[Hmm...it might look like he's found a worthy challenger here. When Dun gets his feet swept under him, his hands shoot underneath him for balance while he redirects his feet into sharp kicks aimed at the chest. If unable to get one in, he'll use his last kick as a leverage to push himself into a backward flip and landing on his two feet again.]
no subject
[Well the man is agile, he'll give him that much. Steve dodges back enough that Dun's foot only scrapes the front of his uniform. He really doesn't want to hit him but it looks like he might end up having to do just that.
He'll remain on the defense here though because he'd rather not resort to full out violence if he can manage to avoid it. He considers the shield for the moment but it almost feels like overkill. Dun isn't using any weapons.]
no subject
You're not bad with your hands, but what about this!?
[And with that, he charges at Steve with his Chinese blade. The podao is his speciality; there is no way he can lose with it! However while he's still cocky, there's some slight respect for the colourfully dressed man in front of him and his earlier anger and irritation is starting to slowly work off now that he has some outlet for it. So he's good with hand-to-hand combat; what about with that shield of his?]
no subject
He slides his shield off his back and onto his forearm in one smooth, easy motion. He doesn't waste time on words because clearly he isn't getting anywhere in that department.
Steve's kind of surprised to see a sword instead of a gun but that works out even better for him. He raises the shield to meet the blade and Dun will find that it doesn't budge at all. There's very, very little that can harm vibranium; his sword definitely isn't going to hurt it.]
no subject
So, time for a different tactic. The shield could only protect so much after all. He'd have to create an opening for him to break the defence and get at the man behind it.
Sliding his sword of the round and smooth surface, Dun feints a wild swing to the side, hoping to catch the other man off-guard, before unleashing a flurry of blows aimed at different locations. Each blow is sturdy and strong but not as erratic as before. Dun's starting to realise that he's got a real match here, and he definitely didn't want to lose, so he's a bit more careful about his guard and a bit more precise with his aim.]
no subject
They're a pretty even match he finds; he has to keep on his toes. It's a nice challenge though he doesn't fancy finding out if his uniform holds up to the blade the other man is wielding.
His blocking isn't perfect but it keeps the sword at bay. He's a bit off balance but he moves his feet well and keeps his body back. It results in him moving a few steps backward; he doesn't mind giving up the ground. Steve's trying to put together a plan of action when he only has the shield.]
no subject
When he starts pushing forward a few steps, he quickly sees a window of opportunity here. Timing it just right, he waits for his opponent to take one more step back and immediately pushes hard in hopes of throwing him off-balance. He'll then utilize his special "Musou" attack and hopefully that'll be enough to at least numb the other person's arm and give Dun an edge.
Right as blue light starts to glow around his body (the tell-tale sign that he was charging for one super attack), bullets tear through the ground between them and Dun is forced to jump back in surprise. What on earth was that!?]
no subject
The blue glowing is registered and Steve tenses--this is not part of the plan. He has no idea what's going on but blue glowing things tend to be bad news. He just hopes the shield withstands whatever it is that he's doing.
Of course, he doesn't get the chance to find out either. The bullets are more than enough deterrent to hold him up. He turns to look at the armored aliens standing to the side and he keeps Dun in his eye sight too just in case he decides to attack Steve.
The alien responsible has four eyes and a scowl. Rather hideous looking actually.]
Move along. [It barks.]
no subject
Such insolence! I'll have your head for this!!
[He's going to need to be restrained, ASAP. It looks like whatever that blue thing that he had reserved for his last attack is going to be used on the alien instead. Dun has yet to learn that guns are the weapons of this new present; all he can see is a thin, oddly-shaped piece of metal that just earns his scorn. He'll slice through it in half, no problem.]
no subject
That's enough! Stand down!
[Well, Steve isn't having him attack some poor passerby or heaven forbid, one of the people that run this place. He has no idea what the rules are here. They could put him to death or something.
Instead, Steve dives and tackles Dun to the ground. It's obviously the safer thing to do right? Especially when someone all armored up like that might be carrying more than one weapon. He valiantly wrestles for the man's arm so he can try to keep Dun from getting all fancy with his sword and skewering Steve.]
no subject
Steve'll have a struggle on his hands though, that's for sure. The sudden tackle knocks the air out of Dun's lungs, but still he'll fight back, kicking and trying to throw the other man off him. Dun snarls at Steve, his anger returning to him in full force.]
I'll not take orders from you!
[Steve manages to pin that one hand down, but Dun's still got a lot of fight in him and his other hand is used to try and deck Steve in the face. His secondary weapon is strapped to his back, but from the angle he's been tackled down into he can't reach for it just yet.]
no subject
It's a request! That's enough. I don't have a problem with you and it's not their fault. Hurting them won't solve anything!
[He'll block the hand that swings at his face and shove it to the side. The fingers of the other hand curl tighter around the wrist he's holding. Steve will attempt to return the favor and swing his fist at Dun's face in return.]
no subject
Those words have an effect and suddenly Dun stops struggling. He takes the blow to his face and doesn't even react with a punch of his own. It's almost like he's had an epiphany...or he's remembered something that he had forgotten, something important.
The man in the colourful outfit is right. Violence isn't the way, especially if innocents were involved and if he had no clear goal. He could slaughter everyone here, pile the bodies up to the ceiling, but would it get him closer to home? At least before, killing peasants was justified by helping his cousin catch up to Liu Bei. Now...he's not too sure. And he can't risk killing someone for the wrong reason again. Not after all it's caused him before.
His one eye, originally filled with rage and hatred, widens with realisation, and he merely glances away.]
Hmph. You call that a punch? My children can hit harder than that.
[There's still contempt in his tone but it's considerably lesser than before. Dun spits out a little blood to the side and tries to get up, one hand attempting to push Steve off him. The fight has clearly gone out of him and now he seems more irritable and tired.]
Get off me. You're causing a scene.
no subject
Steve doesn't rise to the goading or the bait either. He'd pulled the punch a little but Dun doesn't need to know it. He's just glad the man is listening before this got messy. After a moment's hesitation--is it an act or is he serious?--Steve gets up.
Then he offers Dun a red-leather gloved hand to help him.]
You've got a mean swing yourself.
no subject
I don't need your help. I can get up myself.
[When he is up, he glares at the crowd that seems to have gathered during their fight. Irritated that they had witnessed his lapse of judgement and his short temper, he snaps at all of them.]
If you've got better things to do, what are all of you standing around for!? Off with you now!
[His sharp tones carry more bark than bite, but it works to send most people scurrying away from the area nervous and suspicious of him. Dun preferred that rather than all the scandalized looks some of that had been carrying.]
no subject
Alright, sorry.
[Steve doesn't say anything about the rudeness. Pick the battles you can win or at the very least the ones you can make a difference in. An abrasive personality isn't one of those things you can just change. He just watches everyone scurry off.]
We good here?
no subject
So, instead of focusing on what's important but unsolvable for the moment, he just eyes his opponent's shield and comments on his fighting ability.]
Not bad. It's unorthodox to fight just with a shield, but you're proficient enough to actually cause some decent damage.
no subject
Steve glances down at it and runs a hand along the edge.]
I've never wanted to kill people. The shield is sturdy enough to deliver a punch and protect me but it's only lethal if I want it to be.
[In theory, not even Steve is perfect with bullets flying at him but he does his best.]
