intro log
who. everyone!
what. entering omega.
where. landing pads
when. today
warnings. none for now
You’re not sure how it happened.
A minute ago, you had somewhere to go, someplace to be. Maybe something important to do, or maybe you were just going out to buy groceries. Whatever it was, it doesn’t matter anymore.
You’re in some kind of transport -- a shuttle, given the turbulence and the sounds outside. You’re surrounded by strangers, some of whom might not even be the same species you are. There’s no point in asking. They don’t know how they got here either. The cockpit’s blocked off, like someone forgot to put in a door, and not even a glance at your omni-tool -- a holographic interface accessible by merely tapping the sensor on your left arm -- is any help.
You’ve only got a minute or so before the shuttle starts descending. There aren’t any windows -- this doesn’t look like a shuttle meant for long trips. When it finally touches down, the doors open automatically.
Before you are landing pads, abandoned equipment scattered about. There are other shuttles landing, and whether you like it or not, you’re going to have to get off before yours dumps you out the door. Turn around, and you’re met with a hazy skyline, only half the buildings seem to be coming from above.
Welcome to Omega.
ooc notes
You’re free to expand past the landing area, but please start all threads here. Please remember that your character will not have housing until Aria makes a post granting it; it’ll be on
outsiders and linked here when it goes up.

[He shook his head and almost smirked as he led the way. Luckily, Omega wasn't the safest place, so gunshots weren't uncommon. Shepard just didn't want to fire one off right in the middle of a crowd.
And he didn't have time for this distraction. The only reason he wanted to give the display was because he still hadn't checked his gone since arriving on the station. With all the other weird things going on, he didn't want to show up on Aria's doorstep only to find his guns weren't working.
So as soon as they were in the corridor, he took aim at a nearby advertisement for Afterlife (Aria's club) and pulled the trigger. His pistol was more like a machine pistol, so there was a six-round burst as the sign exploded in a shower of sparks.]
See? Bam.

[Morrigan was...mildly impressed. She supposed. Nothing in comparison to real magic, but still. To the typical warrior, it could prove a critical tool. There was only a touch of condensation as she acknowledged the potential of the weapon.]
A fine substitute for true magic, I suppose. For the most base applications of the art.
no subject
[Far from it, but he'd already humored her enough considering he really needed to find a way back to Earth. The only way to get a ship was to get to Aria and ask for one. If that didn't work, he'd just have to take one.]
At least you know not to stand in front of a gun from now on.
[And then he made his way out of the corridor to continue his original quest, not knowing if she planned on following and not really caring right now since there were very important things that needed to be done.]
no subject
How kind. Though one would think not standing before a mage would fall under the same lesson.
no subject
[Because that had to be what she was talking about. Shepard didn't really care about seeing some card tricks or someone sawed in half.
Actually, scratch that, he could be totally fine with a few people on his list being sawed in half.]
no subject
[Her tone turns from irritated to pondering. Parlor tricks. As he was an apparent native- if not of this Omega then of the land in general- that said something about the world in general. No natural wariness of mages. Well, now that could be helpful or a hindrance.]
Nor am I, stranger. Entertainment rarely proves of practical value.
no subject
[It was better than being called 'stranger' like he was out of some Western, and the fact she didn't recognize him made it all the more obvious that she wasn't from 'around these parts,' to quote a Western colloquialism.]
You don't exactly come here often, do you?
no subject
[A half a beat as she scoffed at her own word choice.]
Though that choice has yet to enter the story, to be honest, seeing how we have all so reluctantly arrived now. Choice or no, I am called Morrigan. Shepard.
[She can't quite decide if it is a name or a title. Whatever the case, it will due.]
no subject
[It was repeated just so he could remember it. There was a nod as he continued on towards the entrance to Afterlife, Aria's club.]
Reluctant or not, we're all on Omega now.
no subject
[Afterlife. Morrigan's dark humor has no chance of fading now.]
But it seems your friend enjoys building up to disappointment.
no subject
[No, really. Don't get used to getting what you want, Morrigan. Nothing happens the way you want it to here.]
You plan on following me all the way to the club?
no subject
[Strange as it is to not be the one with the most revealing outfit in a general area, Morrigan she can live.]

Aria's not the type to speak to strangers.
[That's when he finally stopped and turned to face the witch.]
You might want to stay out of the way.
[Look, he's an asshole and a douchebag, but he doesn't want people getting killed on his watch, so have some concern.]
no subject
[She gives a small 'hrm' of...well, judgement, with that, but she pauses to slip the staff into it's holding place on her back.
Because Aria would have been so threatened by a 'stick' and all.]
An activity I have gained not so insignificant a skill in over the last year. By all means, hero. Lead on.
no subject
You don't have many friends, do you?
no subject
Are you seeking friendliness, Shepard? Or would you rather competency?
no subject
A ship, actually. That's all I really want right now.
[He's not going to tell her off again. So, he'll just start walking again, only stopping for a second so she can be at his side.]
no subject
[She falls into step next to him, privately suspecting they're going to need far more than a ship- or she will, at least. But verbal speculation is a waste of time and effort.]
no subject
You aren't from Earth, are you?
no subject
Your homeland, I am to assume?
no subject
Planet. Home planet. 'Land' makes it sound... small.
no subject
[She tilts her head slightly to the side, conceding a point to herself.]
And my...planet as well. Far smaller than I should like to believe, and for no greater reason than because I was part of it.
