who. Shepard
fightforthelost
what. Adjutants assemble!
where. Zeta District
when. During the event. All of it. Who needs sleep?
warnings. violence, cursing, douchebaggery
[Omega wasn't exactly a vacation spot, but it wasn't knee-deep in Reaper territory either. Shepard and the crew had had something of a reprieve from the war even if Shepard was still pissed he was stuck on the space station.
And now the war had found him again. It was time to get back to work. How ironic would it be to have helped Aria take Omega back only to lose it to Reapers? On top of that, the newcomers to the universe probably had no idea what was going on.
That explains why Shepard is out and armed to the teeth. He hasn't taken a break since the first Adjutant sighting. He's operating on caffeine, discipline, and the fact that he's just plain pissed.
He's not cutting corners either, throwing himself into larger groups to clear out safe areas for people. Vanguards are always a force to be reckoned with, and Shepard is no exception.
So maybe you're in over your head, maybe you're trying to help out, or maybe you just don't have a clue what's going on. Whatever the case, Commander Shepard is probably in your area.]

saturday, midday, right in the very middle of shit. y/y?
much less when it was trying to eat her face.
behind the safety of her helmet, she scowled at the oncoming horde, activating her cloak and easily slipping into the thick of them and letting out a wave of her electric slash. it's enough to knock a lot of them down, getting most of them off of her back, and she takes the few seconds before her cloak deactivates to fire off a few shots from her pistol.
she needs a better gun, because she'd known her rifle wouldn't have done her much good without a decent camping spot, and with these things, it's a moot point.
she's fighting right alongside shepard, and once she realizes that their armor is the same - that they're both n7s - she has to speak up.] How are you holding up, soldier? [she calls out to him, voice just barely loud enough to transfer over even through their comms.]
hells yes
When she speaks up, he can't help but roll his eyes a little to himself. 'Soldier' eh? She must not recognize him. That or she's used to a female Shepard. That shit's getting old, not because he wants recognition since he really doesn't give a shit. It would just be nice to not have to re-introduce himself to people and go through the whole process of proving who he is.
He lets his actions answer her question as he aims a biotic charge at the middle of the biggest group, connects with the Adjutant in front, and then unleashes a Nova to scatter his enemies.]
no subject
because as much as she loves her squad, some of them tend to need babysitting. more often than not.
she doesn't recognize him, no. because her universe's shepard is female, and she's never thought of the possibility of there being more than one. (she needs that explained to her, eventually.) never mind the fact that she's never met her shepard in person, and would feel highly honored if the chance ever presented itself.
this shep won't have to prove who he is. aside from .. yeah, the whole having a penis thing.
she doesn't really expect him to answer, and when he doesn't, she simply reactivates her cloak in order to give herself another chance to get right in the middle of the enemies he's scattered, lashing out with her sword in a wide arc that finishes off more than a handful of them.]
no subject
They've got a moment, so he calls out to his partner.]
Not bad. Looks like they're teaching more tricks during N7 training nowadays.
no subject
fucking batarians.
she straightens when he finally speaks to her, nodding.] Top of my class from the very beginning, especially once I reached N6. Couldn't stop there, could I? Had to be the best.
[pause. they have time for introductions, right?] Major Shizuka - but I guess there's no reason for you to call me anything other than Benji, unless you really want to. [shrug.]
no subject
He looks somewhat impressed by her introduction, especially the part about her being top of her class. That's an accomplishment in N7 right there since that training is hard as fuck. On top of that, technically she outranks him as a Major. It's the same with Kaidan. Being dead for 3 years and working with a terrorist group for awhile does a number on your promotion record.
Still, he's Commander Shepard.]
Major.
[He offers a handshake after he places his shotgun back in its spot.]
Commander Shepard.
no subject
once she'd decided that she was going to join the military, it hadn't been a question of how far she was willing to go. she wanted to be the best, to make her parents and her little sister proud, and once she'd reached n6, well .. the next step up was, of course, n7, and there was no higher honor than that.
except for maybe being offered the title of spectre. but she wasn't holding out for that.
and it doesn't matter that she technically outranks him. he's damn right - he's commander fucking shepard.
which is something that she has to pause at when he actually says it. she's quiet for a moment, and then she chuckles, shaking her head.] You can't be Commander Shepard. Shepard's a woman.
.. And you're definitely not a woman.
no subject
[A shrug. He'd be kind of annoyed if he hadn't gone through this same thing a lot lately. Garrus not recognizing him was probably the biggest shock, but Shepard isn't familiar with this girl. It doesn't exactly sting as much as it would with his close friends.]
Alternate realities, different timelines, divergent universes -- get in touch with Mordin Solus or Liara T'Soni. They'll have more information about why I can grow facial hair in one universe and not the other.
no subject
[she's still not convinced, and even though he's name-dropping some pretty important people - ones she's never met face-to-face, either, but it's easy to just start dropping names when your identity is being questioned.
hrm.
she's squinting inside of her helmet, so it's a pretty good thing that shepard can't actually see her scrutiny. she's also trying to think of something she can ask him to make sure he's telling the truth. though she really doubts that anyone would have the balls to walk around presenting themselves as commander shepard and not actually be him.
her. them. WHATEVER.
the only thing she really needs to know is:] What do you think about batarians?
no subject
They're cuddly and I want one as a pet.
I cut my teeth against batarian slavers on Torfan. Earned my nickname there. Bastards are the reason a lot of good men are dead. I don't think I've ever met one I haven't wanted to skewer.
no subject
Oh, yeah? What's the nickname?
[but that's all she needs to hear. communal hatred of batarians is go.
you're all right, shepard.] Doesn't matter either way. You say you're Shepard and we have something in common - batarians almost got me and my sister killed on the mission that ended up bumping us into recruitment for the N7 program.
[and she shrugs.] We can hate them together.
no subject
Sounds like a plan.
[He draws his shotgun again.]
And they called me the 'butcher of Torfan.'
[have some dramatic action hero shotgun cocking/thermal clip popping.]
no subject
he can't see it, of course, but she's raising an eyebrow behind her visor at the nickname - and she can't say that she doesn't approve of it.
that cock of his shotgun, though, has her shaking her head and reactivating her cloak and setting out for the next group of adjutants.] Nice name - I see why it stuck!
no subject
He flexes one fist and glows with biotic power for a moment before following on after her.]
no subject
she may revere the commander a bit too much. but that is nothing she'll ever state out loud.
she catches the biotic glow before she begins working on the next group of abominations, and there's a small smirk behind the safety of her helmet. this is going to be interesting, if nothing else.]
no subject
The shock of his charge sends the group of adjutants stumbling. He follows up with a violent Nova, smashing the ground with enough biotic force to completely obliterate the closest enemy.]
no subject
when shepard charges forward, when he eradicates the nearest enemies with the follow-up blast of nova, it's all she needs to gear up for another slash to take down those that remained standing. if they kept up like this, it wasn't going to be long before there weren't any of them left to take care of.
and she's just fine with that.]
