who. agent york and YOU!!
what. fightin' adjutants and tryin' to survive during the event
where. anywhere in zeta district
when. all during the event -- friday, saturday, and sunday!
warnings. violence, probably!
[ Well, there's one thing York can say for Omega so far, and that's that the place is never boring. At Sacrosanct, things could go quiet and dull for weeks on end, but here, there's always something going on. And while she'd rather it were something a little less deadly, she'll take what she can get.
She has to be careful here, because there aren't any teleporters they'll pop back out from if they die. Here, they've only got one life. So she's being about as careful as she can stand to be, always leaving the apartment clad in full armor and well-armed. She doesn't know how many of these things there are roaming around out here, but there are plenty to kill, that's for sure. Besides which, she knows there have to be folks out there who can't defend themselves -- and okay, York doesn't really consider herself a hero or anything, but she figures as long as she's out here shooting these things she might as well be doing some good.
She can be found around the district at varying points over the weekend, either keeping the adjutants from getting too close to her and Wash's apartment, or venturing out to other areas to do a little pest control. She'll be happy to temporarily team up with anyone else out shooting adjutants, and to save anyone who might need it -- or if your character is more the type to do the saving, feel free. York needs her ass saved once in a while, too. ]

and that lazy salute just makes her shake her head.] Like I said, it's only Major if you're in my squad, which you clearly aren't .. so call me Benji. My sister calls me Benj, so I answer to that, too.
[project, huh .. she's pretty interested in knowing more about this, but she doesn't think right now is the best time to start asking questions. there's no telling when there might be another group of adjutants coming right at them.] I'll call you whatever you want to be called - but I have to say, Natalie is a very pretty name. I have a Fury on my team with the very same one .. I've always liked it.
no subject
Well, shit, guess we're on a first-name basis then, Benji.
[ There's a grin in her voice, even if it's not visible through her visor. ]
So you got any tips on killing these things?
no subject
she's looking around them, just waiting for another group of those things to surround them, ready to let out another wave of electricity at the first sign of their approach.] Now that we've gotten that figured out .. [because names are important, okay.]
They die just like anything else, really. Shoot them, stab them, shock them .. they'll still fall over. Got any special techniques? Biotics?
[because she totally expects you to know what those are!]
no subject
[ She cocks her rifle, glancing at Benji. ]
Speaking of special techniques, what about you?
no subject
[she's smirking underneath her helmet when she sees another couple of adjutants approach, and she doesn't say a thing before she's activating her cloak and sweeping across the field to shove the end of her sword right through one of the things before decloaking again.] Oh .. just things like that. I'm not too bad with a sniper rifle, either.
no subject
Jesus, I'm glad you're on my side.
[ also that looks fun
York lifts her rifle and fires a couple of bursts, nailing the other adjutant in the head enough times to take it down before it gets too close. Yeah, Benji is definitely a helper. ]
no subject
she's still grinning behind her helmet as she lashes out with her sword again, knocking back another couple of those ugly things as she watches york take down one with her rifle.] You're not bad with that thing! You ever want to do any target practice, let me know. My sister can't shoot to save her life.
no subject
[ York eyes the sword approvingly, though. ]
Didn't realize Earth military in this universe still taught sword fighting, though.
no subject
Oh, they don't. At least not to anyone that isn't in my class. N7s get special training.
no subject
[ It's a comeback in good humor, though, a tone York tries to keep in her voice as she clears her throat. ]
Who, Wash? Hell if I know. We got separated some ways back.
no subject
[there's laughter in her voice, and while she realizes this probably isn't the best time to be making friends, once they're out of this, she's going to offer to buy york a drink or something.]
.. Wash .. York .. what kind of program gives names like that?
[IT'S A LEGIT QUESTION OKAY.]
no subject
They're nicknames. Each agent was codenamed after a state. New York, Washington. I know, I know, it's totally cheesy.
[ And of course, it's so much easier for Wash and York to call each other by their codenames. Somehow, it's easier that way. It'd be almost too personal to call him David, and she'd be a little wigged out if he started calling her Natalie all of a sudden. ]
no subject
but her answer makes more sense than she thinks it should.] Somehow I was expecting something more .. goofy. But that actually makes sense. Why states?
[she hums in the back of her throat, thinking of what it would be like if the alliance gave everyone in the n7 program codenames like that.] .. My sister would want to be Hawaii. So she could make the 'getting lei'd' joke.
Why did I think of that.
no subject
[ She's grinning broadly, still laughing a little. ]
Honestly, I don't really know what was up with the codenames. It was probably all arbitrary, if you ask me.
no subject
You're .. probably right. Much as I'm reticent to admit it.
[pause.] Maybe no one wanted to work on remembering real names and that was the first thing they thought of?
no subject
[ She gets why Benji's worried, but at the same time, York's a little envious. She'd kill to have her brothers here right now. ]
don't mind the bare shoulders ahem. the expression was good okay.
[it's all she says, all she has time to say before she nearly gets blindsided by an adjutant that had snuck up on her right side, and she gives it a nice slash of her sword to show it just what she thinks of it.
she doesn't like thinking about what her parents are going through right now, back on earth .. and she just prays to whatever higher power there might actually be that they're safe.]

Did I mention I'm glad you're on my side? Because damn.
