welcome to omega, round two.
who. everyone!
what. in which the new arrivals join the outsiders.
where. landing pads for new arrivals, who then head through the markets to the residential area.
when. today!
warnings. n/a
This time, when the shuttles arrive, the landing pad isn't so empty. There was no saying these people wouldn't show up again, and though Aria isn't going to be happy that they appear to be coming on a schedule while the rest of the system is grounded, there doesn't appear that there's much to be done about it. A group of her batarian agents are there to escort incomers off the ship; some are taken aside for questioning, but when it's clear they know nothing of their origins, they're let go. Some new arrivals may notice that these shuttles don't simply depart -- a number of them are escorted off by other shuttles, deeper into the station.
After that, though, there's little the batarians can do about them. They're sent towards the residential district by way of the markets and financial sectors. The housing areas they arrive in aren't in the best of shape; while there are other outsiders to this galaxy already at work trying to repair the damage, others aren't bothering with it at all.
This is Omega. If you don't find some way to pull your weight, you'll be dead in no time.

For a moment, she looks at Benji without the slightest idea of what she's talking about, but the way her sister's looking at her face clues her in. ] --Oh! Nothing happened, I just had to punch some batarians. And kick 'em. Kicking's the fun part.
But never mind that-- you're here! Where's everybody else? Why're we on Omega?

and apparently, it's going to be batarians. she doesn't care if they're aria's or not - you don't mess with her baby sister and expect to get away with it.] Did you leave any standing? Because if you did, I'm going to go finish them off for you.
[seriously.
but then she pauses, biting the inside of her cheek, trying to figure out the answers to her questions.] I don't know where they are .. I haven't seen anyone but you since I got here. I don't understand -
[sigh.] We need to get away from this crowd so we can talk, Zo. We need to figure this out.

[ Zoe scowls at her. Of course she took care of the batarians. She wasn't about to let them get away with it. No way. ]
This is just-- this doesn't make any sense! We weren't even in the same system as Omega.
[ But, as always, Benji knows best. ] ...Okay. Let's get out of here.
first chance to use this icon HELL YES.
[she stops, though, shaking her head and scanning the crowd around them just to see if maybe she'd missed the rest of their squad. at the very least, herb should have shown up by now -
and she doesn't like the fact that she hasn't seen him at all.
benji doesn't say anything as she leads zoe away from the bulk of the crowd, a hand on her arm to guide her (because she isn't losing sight of her again thank you very much) and once she's able to find a small, unoccupied corner, she speaks up again.] You don't think this has anything to do with the war, do you?
Re: first chance to use this icon HELL YES.
[ Zoe can't help but beam. Sure, they're not the cannibals they've had to deal with for the past few months, but that doesn't mean she'll pass up a chance to kick some batarian ass. She's got her priorities in line.
Zoe lets Benji tug her along, keeping close, and once they've gotten away from the crowd she can press closer and lean against her sister. For as brave as a face Zoe puts up, she'll never deny that she needs Benji sometimes. ]
...I dunno. I thought the Reapers hadn't hit Omega. There was something about Cerberus, but wasn't that a while ago?

when zoe presses close to her once they're away from the crowd, she doesn't hesitate to wrap her arms around her, to very lightly rest her chin on her shoulder and just hold on to her for a minute. she'd been terrified when she'd shown up here and hadn't immediately been able to find her, and now that she knows she's safe, she can relax a little.
but she has a feeling it isn't going to last very long.] Yeah, it was .. but why would the relay be broken, otherwise? Unless it's some sort of sabotage that we aren't aware of.
