Well, he doesn't really expect more or less from her. It isn't as though either of them have spent a large amount of time in each other's presence, and given what his now-risen-from-the-dead uncle had put her through, she has every right not to trust him just because they share the same last name.

He knows what he's said is accurate, and the simple fact alone that she refuses to accept them has him wanting to roll his eyes. Peter won't ever apologize for what he's done - why can't she accept this from him regardless of where it's coming from?

His gaze begins to narrow, but he manages to stop himself, because getting irritated with her stubbornness isn't going to help anything. His arms fold across his chest as he says, "But you aren't going to accept that from me."

A statement, not a question. He knows better than to ask.
