She can feel her emotions rising to the surface, but she swallows them down. Lydia refuses to allow Derek Hale to see anything beyond her lack of trust for him and upset that his family shoved their way into her and her friends' lives.

The words are accurate, it's what she wants to hear, but she knows that it's not really his place to say it. She allows a small nod, a soft gesture to acknowledge that he is right with his estimation. She doesn't accept his words though. She won't allow it to be passed off to someone else.
