i ask everybody have they seen you
who. Severa, Starscream
what. Severa's almost gotten acclimated to Omega. She just needs to learn how to shoot.
where. Zeta District
when. A week or two after Severa's arrival on Omega, but before the current Thessia plot
warnings. None that I can think of
"Starscream!"
To tell the truth, Severa always felt silly calling out for her roommate. It was just such a ridiculous name—Starscream, gods—but, well, it was his. And if this was to be her new life, as it seemed increasingly likely, she'd just have to get used to it. She'd already figured out most of the new magics. Technologies. Whatever. All that mattered was that she had some sort of device on her arm that allowed her to communicate with anyone on the asteroid at a moment's notice, and she held in her hand another device that fired something called "bullets" at other people and could very easily kill them in the same moment's notice.
Now all she needed was to learn how to use it. She stepped into the main area of what she supposed would have to pass for a living arrangement around here. As reluctant as she'd been to admit it, she definitely needed the help. And who better (or more convenient) than the... "person" who was made of technology.
Hopefully he'd be around. What else could he be doing that was more important?

"I told you I was going out," he called through the door as he typed in the pass code to unlock it.
Didn't take long to follow the human's voice to the main area, and Starscream's optics immediately fell on the gun.
"How did you manage to obtain that?" He said, pointing a long claw at the weapon.

Putting the gun down on the nearest flat surface, barrel facing away from either of them, Severa sighed. "I've been telling people that I know how to handle it, but it's obvious I don't. I've never seen this stupid thing before in my life!" That kind of admission was way more common than she liked. "So I was thinking..."
She gave Starscream one of her patented puppy dog eyes looks, reserved for when there was something she reeeeally wanted.
"You could teach me how to use this! And in return, I can defend you with it."

At her look, Starscream distinctly felt like the tables had turned on him. Did he look like that when he really wanted something and felt particularly low at the moment?
No immediate answer though. Just a very brief errand to finish first.
"Received another payment today for repairs--"
Not even going to point out that he'd mentioned all this before.
"--let me put it away first, then we can go."
Leaving the main area for where they kept their funds in a meager safe, he still talked, calling to her. "We can try one of the abandoned warehouses, they should be safe enough for a shooting range." Utterly empty, rarely anyone going there, and it was already a wreck, how could it be damaged any worse, and by shooting practice of all things?
He had little to protest. It would be useful for Severa to learn a new skill, especially one relevant to Omega. And though at first he'd wanted to chalk up Severa's offer to her pride, he realized she possibly had a point--he could use some back-up here.

"Right, the pay," she said under her breath. And louder, so her roommate could hear, "That's another reason I was hoping to learn to use a gun. I saw that some of the mercenary groups were recruiting, or something." She looked at the gun, then towards where Starscream had gone, and took a couple steps in that direction.
"I used to be a mercenary." A very skilled one, if she said so herself. "It can't be that different here. And it would have to bring in more money. I cannot live in squalor like this for much longer."

Answering a question she knew Starscream hadn't asked, she smirked. "The armor that the Blue Suns get to wear would look great on me." Though she knew he was right. She knew next to nothing about how the various bands of mercenaries worked around here. She cast a look over her shoulder before turning around entirely and returning to where she'd placed that weird grey weapon-slash-monstrosity. "I could probably paint this to match."
sorry for the long wait, hope you saw my 'hiatus' post on the ooc comm?
Letting that unfamiliar phrase go, Starscream followed Severa. "Assuming paint is inexpensive here."
oh yeah, no worries; glad to see life has calmed down!
"All right, so are we going? I can't wait around here forever." Not even halfway through the sentence, she started making her way towards the door with her gun awkwardly hanging off her waist, near the front. It would have only taken a couple more steps for it to completely dislodge, so she grabbed it and placed it under her arm instead. Gods, would she really need to buy an accessory for it already?
