"Two thousand and eleven, actually." Which was, as Kengo had found out, about a hundred and seventy-five years behind the current year. That put a very large gap between the technology he was used to and the current year. Hearing that he had been incorrect about the method made Kengo more curious than embarrassed.

The comment about humans didn't bother him either. To be honest, he realized mankind's achievements and he was proud of them (partially because of what his father had accomplished), but he also recognized that humans had been far behind the other races. Talking to his salarian boss and digging around with what information he could gather had told him that much.

"It's nice to hear that medical technology has advanced that much." Kengo offered the hand of the arm he'd rolled his sleeve up on. "I'm still primarily familiar with my own era's tech, but I've only ever had passing familiarity with medical work." Really, that part was only because of how constantly sick he was.
