intro log

who. everyone!
what. entering omega.
where. landing pads
when. today
warnings. none for now

You’re not sure how it happened.

A minute ago, you had somewhere to go, someplace to be. Maybe something important to do, or maybe you were just going out to buy groceries. Whatever it was, it doesn’t matter anymore.

You’re in some kind of transport -- a shuttle, given the turbulence and the sounds outside. You’re surrounded by strangers, some of whom might not even be the same species you are. There’s no point in asking. They don’t know how they got here either. The cockpit’s blocked off, like someone forgot to put in a door, and not even a glance at your omni-tool -- a holographic interface accessible by merely tapping the sensor on your left arm -- is any help.

You’ve only got a minute or so before the shuttle starts descending. There aren’t any windows -- this doesn’t look like a shuttle meant for long trips. When it finally touches down, the doors open automatically.

Before you are landing pads, abandoned equipment scattered about. There are other shuttles landing, and whether you like it or not, you’re going to have to get off before yours dumps you out the door. Turn around, and you’re met with a hazy skyline, only half the buildings seem to be coming from above.

Welcome to Omega.

ooc notes
You’re free to expand past the landing area, but please start all threads here. Please remember that your character will not have housing until Aria makes a post granting it; it’ll be on [community profile] outsiders and linked here when it goes up.

[There was still a bottle of 'wine' in her hand. That, at least, was the same. The rest? Well. No. So totally checked into a different space here.

Heh. Space.

Maeby stood on the landing pad and took a contemplative swig from her bottle as she eyed the change in scenery. She'd heard about out of body experiences when people drank too much- hell, she figured her mother pretty much live in a permanent one. It would explain how she acted half the time. But this? Maybe there'd been acid or something in there, too. This couldn't be what getting drunk was always like, could it?

Whatever. She swayed a little on her feet, the fact she was only placebo drunk not changing the fact her teenage brain was determined to make her act drunk. Another glance at the bottle in hand, she wondered just how much crap had to be in it to make her see this, and she finally noticed the omni-tool for the first time.]

Hey. Free jewelery.
professorwolf: (confused)

[personal profile] professorwolf 2013-02-02 09:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Is that what this is?

[One werewolf has been poking at it ever since he stepped into the Woolsey carriage and found himself somewhere else entirely. Since he could not poke at the contraption he arrived in from within it, that inexplicable acquisition has had the bulk of his attention.

Well, that and the mass of people inside the shuttle with him. But he could observe them more through scent, and the omnitool more through touch. It has had some rather interesting reactions to his careful prodding.]

Your pardon, miss.

[He tips his hat to her, a dispatch case-- to a modern individual, it looks more like a small briefcase-- dangling from its handle on one arm and his style of dress very old-fashioned.]

[personal profile] lecousindangereux 2013-02-03 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
[Maeby stumbles a half-step back, frowning at the....period piece dressed man. Huh. Was this the set? Had they gotten drunk and she'd forced George Michael to take her to the studio? Or was her subconscious just that pathetically held up on her work.]

Heeey. Don't sweat it. I mean, we coordinate.

[She held up her omni-tool clad wrist, smiling as if to say 'see? twinsies!']

But, if you wanna make it up to me...where's wardrobe?
professorwolf: (curious)

[personal profile] professorwolf 2013-02-03 04:52 am (UTC)(link)

[Lyall looks puzzled by the question.]

I am afraid I only just arrived... I am not at all certain where they keep wardrobes here. Or, to be frank, if they even have wardrobes as I know them. Are you familiar with this place, miss?

[personal profile] lecousindangereux 2013-02-03 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[Her face fell a little bit. Oh. One of those. A Character Actor. Why did they always find her.]

So you're not going to help me out. Is that what I'm hearing here?
professorwolf: (inspecting)

[personal profile] professorwolf 2013-02-03 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
If I could, miss, I assure you I would. I'm afraid I may be just as confused as you are as to where we are. The last I recall, before appearing in that horrible floating contraption, I was climbing into the carriage on my way back to the pack townhouse. In London.

[He glances around pointedly at the space station which is obviously not London.]

[personal profile] lecousindangereux 2013-02-06 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
[Slow nod. Okay, fine. Mrs. Featherbottom all over again.]

Great. Awesome. You weren't one of those time traveling detective cliches by any chance, huh?
professorwolf: (confused)

[personal profile] professorwolf 2013-02-07 05:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Looking honestly puzzled, Lyall assures her,]

As far as I am aware, I have never time-traveled, though I suppose one might call me a detective of sorts. I tend to spend far more time at paperwork than in actual investigative pursuits, though.

[Belatedly, he gets around to introductions.]

Professor Randolph Lyall, how do you do. Of London. England. I, ah, imagine this is nowhere near England....
lecousindangereux: gotmebeat @ LJ (pic#4744941)

[personal profile] lecousindangereux 2013-02-07 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Far as I know? We're not near anywhere. We are no where.

[She takes another hard look at the surrounding area.]

And it smells. Professor.

[Tony normally would have taken no notice at all of a nondescript teenaged girl, but in this crowd of strange creatures and guys in space armor, he was drawn to the sense of normality. He'd also normally have avoided her, but in this crowd, he didn't think she could object too strenuously to being approached by a strung-out-looking, weedy guy in his mid twenties, sketchy as that would be at home.]

lecousindangereux: hollowart (pic#4744945)

[personal profile] lecousindangereux 2013-02-03 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Weedy, strung out looking guys cover half her former employees at the studio, so Maeby hardly even blinks at the approach. Rather, she raises her free hand in a quick acknowledgement of his arrival.]

[She pauses- then leans in suddenly, examining him with zero consideration given to personal space.]

Mm. Maybe I'm not that drunk. I thought you'd be...beefier.
traineeassistantdirector: (exasperated)

[personal profile] traineeassistantdirector 2013-02-03 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
[He's known too many vampires and sundry other weirdos to really have personal space when it's preferable not to. He can handle that. What he's not sure what to make of is her theory. He's not sure he should disabuse her of it. Maybe that makes it easier.]

If drunk would do this, I've been getting drunk wrong for years. ...And I think I'm glad.
lecousindangereux: hollowart (Default)

[personal profile] lecousindangereux 2013-02-03 04:12 am (UTC)(link)
There's a wrong-

[She pauses to glance down at the bottle in her hand, suddenly concerned that she and George Michael had been getting drunk wrong. Was that why mom never talked about getting lost in space?...Then she looks back up at him and gives a sharp laugh, pointing with her free hand.]

Oh, right. Funny guy. Maybe you are me after all. Or not. Hard to tell what's maybe right now, huh?

[She grins at that, apparently pleased. Maeby, maybe. Ha, she's a genius.]
traineeassistantdirector: (exasperated)

[personal profile] traineeassistantdirector 2013-02-03 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
[Was he this annoying, once upon a time? It's a wonder Henry and Vicki kept him around, if so. Though he would have appreciated the pun if he'd known about it.]

Hi, I'm Tony.

[That's nice and neutral. Might suss out whether anything's wrong with her or she's just in a state of comfortable denial.]
lecousindangereux: hollowart (pic#4744944)

[personal profile] lecousindangereux 2013-02-03 05:01 am (UTC)(link)

[The smile falters a little as it starts to settle in that, no. This may just not be a drunk thing. She glances at the wine again as if it had betrayed her, then looks back up at him with a slightly more serious expression.]

Hi, Tony. You're not- this isn't, like, an arrest or something, right? Because I'm totally legal.
traineeassistantdirector: (intense)

[personal profile] traineeassistantdirector 2013-02-03 05:08 am (UTC)(link)
No, it's not, and you're not, but that's really beside the point.

[If she thinks that hallucinating space stations happens when you're drunk, she's definitely from another universe.]

I'm curious. What do you think is going on right now?

[Explaining the plain truth when he doesn't really know it yet is an interesting prospect. Usually he's doing the exact opposite.]
lecousindangereux: hollowart (pic#4744940)

[personal profile] lecousindangereux 2013-02-03 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[She uses her free hand to push the mass of her hair away from her face for a moment, letting out a huff as she looks around again.]

Immersion theater?

cosmosic: DON'T STEAL (serious→ fashion for sight)

[personal profile] cosmosic 2013-02-03 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[Ino had been watching the girl sway a bit warily. Actually, to be honest, she had been watching everyone and everything a bit warily. It was a space station, she was used to that, but it wasn't the space station she had been thrown on more than once.

For one, it was wrecked and filthy and while she's used to the dirty looks from aliens, she gets some from humans too. What was up with that? She actually bristles a little indignantly, wondering what the heck she did to deserve that treatment from people she didn't even know, when the girl she had been watching speaks up.

Ino prods her own omni-tool, having not yet figured out its purpose yet.]

If this is supposed to be jewelry, someone needs to find a different hobby.

[And if Maeby decided to fall, at least she could be quick enough to catch her since she was paying attention.]
lecousindangereux: hollowart (pic#4744945)

[personal profile] lecousindangereux 2013-02-06 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
[Maeby gave a violent sway at the voice- very close to falling. But, for this moment, she manages to hang on. At least long enough to turn and look at the blond.]

Oh, see- It's gotta be super expensive, right? You can be ugly if you're worth a jet plane.
cosmosic: DON'T STEAL (serious→ fashion for sight)

[personal profile] cosmosic 2013-02-06 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
[Ino makes a move to catch her, only to visibly sigh in relief when she notes that she's managed to stay on her own two feet.

She eyes the bottle a bit more before answering. She had no idea if the omni-tool was expensive or not but-]

No, that's wrong! Nobody should be okay with ugly!

Besides, I don't think jewelry is supposed to have buttons like this.
lecousindangereux: hollowart (pic#4744938)

[personal profile] lecousindangereux 2013-02-07 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
You sound like my mother.

[Not a compliment- but okay. There's a point. Possibly. Maeby gives her a slightly suspicious (it's the mother thing) glance, then looks back down at the...bracelet.]

Well, if it's not jewelry, I'm out of ideas.
cosmosic: DON'T STEAL (serious→ jenga is hard)

[personal profile] cosmosic 2013-02-07 03:28 am (UTC)(link)
[It makes sense since Ino is the figurative mother of her ninja team back home. There's a small smirk anyway and one hand settles on her hip.]

Your mother must be a smart woman.

[Her fingers brush the...bracelet-thing too, as if searching for those buttons. She had been too cautious to press them but it looks like she didn't really have a choice.]

I bet we could find out if one of us pressed the buttons.

[Okay, here goes nothing!! PRESSES LE BUTTON.]
lecousindangereux: hollowart (pic#4744946)

[personal profile] lecousindangereux 2013-02-07 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
If smart has a different definition-

[Whoa, and she's pressing buttons. Maeby instantly leans in, any fear of explosions instantly overridden by the desire to see what happens.]
cosmosic: DON'T STEAL (shock→ ah mah gerrrrh)

[personal profile] cosmosic 2013-02-08 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
[No explosions, but it's just as sudden. An orange screen pops up along with some other holographic displays around that 'bracelet.' It's enough to render Ino speechless.

For a little bit anyway.]

lecousindangereux: hollowart (pic#4744944)

[personal profile] lecousindangereux 2013-02-10 04:03 pm (UTC)(link)

[She waves a hand towards the orange, watching as her fingers don't...really go all the way through. More like button pushing.]

Okay. I'm weirded out. More.
