intro log
who. everyone!
what. entering omega.
where. landing pads
when. today
warnings. none for now
You’re not sure how it happened.
A minute ago, you had somewhere to go, someplace to be. Maybe something important to do, or maybe you were just going out to buy groceries. Whatever it was, it doesn’t matter anymore.
You’re in some kind of transport -- a shuttle, given the turbulence and the sounds outside. You’re surrounded by strangers, some of whom might not even be the same species you are. There’s no point in asking. They don’t know how they got here either. The cockpit’s blocked off, like someone forgot to put in a door, and not even a glance at your omni-tool -- a holographic interface accessible by merely tapping the sensor on your left arm -- is any help.
You’ve only got a minute or so before the shuttle starts descending. There aren’t any windows -- this doesn’t look like a shuttle meant for long trips. When it finally touches down, the doors open automatically.
Before you are landing pads, abandoned equipment scattered about. There are other shuttles landing, and whether you like it or not, you’re going to have to get off before yours dumps you out the door. Turn around, and you’re met with a hazy skyline, only half the buildings seem to be coming from above.
Welcome to Omega.
ooc notes
You’re free to expand past the landing area, but please start all threads here. Please remember that your character will not have housing until Aria makes a post granting it; it’ll be on
outsiders and linked here when it goes up.

You get dragged her apropos of nothing too, huh?

And apparently has something to do with this one, armor considered. ] Apparently it's going around.
[ She turns to face her, arms cross in front of her as she looks out at the other completely out of place people wandering around the landing pads. People from all over the goddamn place - it's like nothing has changed since Abax, but this is home, right? It should be. ] This look anything like the universe you remember? Does 'Asari' mean anything to you?
no subject
York shakes her head, letting out a mostly humorless laugh. ]
Not even a little bit. I mean -- space stations, ships, the level of tech, it's sort of familiar, but it's definitely not home. Back home, all the aliens are tryin' to kill us. And I didn't exactly come here from home, either.

Don't count on it being picnics and songs around the campfire, but at least not everyone wants blood, and if they do, they wait until you're in some dark alley for it. [ But back onto the subject. ] Not your dimension, huh?
no subject
[ But York shakes her head at the question, rubbing one hand along the back of her neck. ]
Not even close. I mean, for one thing, all the aliens back home are tryin' to kill us. But I didn't even come from home. Last eight months of my life were spent on a space station run by a rampant AI. You wanna talk about picnics and campfires, lady, I've got some stories.
[ York has a healthy appreciation for sarcasm. How else do you deal with shit like this? ]
no subject
[ One less wide eyed moron wandering around. ]
...Like a space station out of your original universe? Or just some vacation from home?
[ She's met a lot of people jacked from other dimensions here, but no one yet with the same case as her - taken from home once into Abax and then dropped off here. She's starting to worry it looks like the dimensions are just all bleeding into each other. Which is some seriously bad shit, she'd think. ]
no subject
[ Enforced, of course, with shuttles that detonated if you tried to stray too far from the station, or public torture of those who looked a little too closely into what was going on. ]
I guess somethin' similar happened to you.
no subject
[ And she had so hoped she was done with that. Just being misplaced onto Omega would be fine, but this shit again? Ugh. ]
Didn't expect it to follow me home.
no subject
[ York might've guessed as much from Jack's earlier comments, but it's surprising all the same. York figured it had to be a dim possibility, but what are even the odds? ]
no subject
Not, like, property-wise. But yeah. I'm from here.
no subject
Those are pretty tight odds, from what I understand. You're damn lucky to be home.
